The Skotel is in an excellent position for exploring the Tongariro National Park and doing the Tongariro Crossing.
We stayed 5 nights and found plenty of different hikes to do each day. Sadly the weather prevented us from doing the 'Crossing'.
Our room no 211 had superb views to 2 sides and was large with a balcony. So we could gaze at the volcano when it did emerge from the mist.
We were a little disappointed that Wifi connection was rather expensive, and that no bath robes were provided. The spa pool, which admittedly was free, is in need of serious renovation
Sadly we were very disappointed by the quality of our meal on our last evening ..having enjoyed the other meals we had.
