We booked our stay with family for 3 days having not seen this campsite at all. A day before the owner called to confirm our booking and she was very friendly.

When we arrived we sorted our accommodation arrangements. My sister and her husband were in a basic cabin, my parents in a campervan and we were in a tent. Initially the tent site they put us was in one area but once the size of our tent was determined we moved to a spot down by the river. My parents campervan were right beside us. The owner warned us that my sister and her husband would be quite a walk away but we thought that would be ok.

First impressions of the actual campsite were that it was clean, tidy, well appointed and child friendly. Our tent site was flat and under cherry plum trees. My sister and brother-in-law's cabin was small but adequate with two sets of bunks, a heater and a small table.

The ablution blocks were very tidy and hygienic! There was a TV room and a room with internet accessible computers. The kitchen was also very clean.

On one of the nights there was a storm that came through and 100kmph winds and rain. Our tent survived and the next morning debris from the trees was strewn everywhere. The owner came all the way down to us to make sure we had survived the night ok which was nice.

Our stay was very pleasant and the owners were very friendly and accommodating. The motel units there also looked nice! We will definitely stay there if we are back up that way.

We stayed at this holiday park while driving through from the east coast towards Mt. Cook. We chose the en-suite cabin with kitchenette. There was a toaster, kettle, plates, pans, etc. There was no stove in the room but there was a BBQ station right outside. The heater worked really well and electric blankets were also on the beds. The cabin seemed new and in good condition. I would stay again if passing through.

Not much to see in Omarama but its access to other regions is important. This campground has everything you'd want, is quiet at night (considering it's on the highway), and facilities are complete, with lovely camp staff. Our overnight in a campervan was minus-7deg so we had icicles inside (our fault for arriving after a snow blizzard!). Kitchen worked really well, really clean facilities & bathrooms. Only hassle was fluctuating hot water in the showers and a wall heater in the womens that wouldn't switch on in the cold evening, but the park was a really pleasant surprise and it's on the list of future stops. Right next to a small river, very close to Lake Ohau and Mt Cook, and an escape from Lindis Pass!

Room Tip: Plenty of space, book early when the local gliding champs are flying, and ski season!

Well-priced holiday park with friendly staff and decent facilities. We stayed in for a night in a campervan site and had a great view of the mountains from our window. Would have been a good base to head up to Mount Cook except the snow came down and we barely made it to Lake Tekapo!

we stayed 1 night in standard cabin and that was very basic but also the cheapest overnight we made in NZ. Nice camping and friendly staff. We went to the hotel at the opposite side of the holiday park and we took a brunch meal (cheap and a lot of food).

Room Tip: the tippy houses are basic
