“Spotless, well priced, great kitchen and showers”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

We chose this campsite for our caravan after reading about other campsites in nearby towns. It was very clean, immaculate, friendly staff, showers were hot and private, toilets clean and tidy. Apparently the cabins are just as good.
We will without doubt come back.
Pricing was also the best over Lake Tekapo and Twizel.

Just needed a place to lay our heads on our way to Timaru. The reception staff were very friendly and we took a basic cabin, which was a stand alone A frame. The cabin was spotlessly clean, the bed came ready made and was super comfy. There is a friendly pub over the road that serve meals and cold beer! (the Blue cod fish and chips were great!).

We recently spent 3 nights in a motel unit whilst travelling to Twizel each day to watch our grandson rowing.
We have stayed previously, in winter, and had a great relaxing weekend. This time there were four of us in a two-bedroom motel unit and there was plenty of room for us all. The bathroom was very spacious, the kitchen well-equipped and the only complaint would be we couldn't watch NZ win the cricket! No Sky in our particular unit.
I can't congratulate the owners enough regarding the very high standard of cleanliness - not just in our unit but in the communal kitchen, toilets and around the dump station area.
The staff were very helpful. Very highly recommended.

The front of house was friendly and helpful. We stayed in a ensuite cabin with two doubles and a bunk. It had everything we needed and was very well priced. We got here in the late afternoon and left first thing in the morning so I can't really say too much about it. It was our stop in between Milford sound and Christchurch.

We had the basic huts which were literally a bed and walls. But everything you need was there. Would stay again if we were passing through. Good water pressure in showers and plenty so there was never a line up.

Only issue would be the lack of fridge space for the camp. Many cabins etc... dont have fridges in them so everyone staying is trying to cram all their foods into one normal sized fridge. Would recommend a second to ease the congestion.

We booked our stay with family for 3 days having not seen this campsite at all. A day before the owner called to confirm our booking and she was very friendly.

When we arrived we sorted our accommodation arrangements. My sister and her husband were in a basic cabin, my parents in a campervan and we were in a tent. Initially the tent site they put us was in one area but once the size of our tent was determined we moved to a spot down by the river. My parents campervan were right beside us. The owner warned us that my sister and her husband would be quite a walk away but we thought that would be ok.

First impressions of the actual campsite were that it was clean, tidy, well appointed and child friendly. Our tent site was flat and under cherry plum trees. My sister and brother-in-law's cabin was small but adequate with two sets of bunks, a heater and a small table.

The ablution blocks were very tidy and hygienic! There was a TV room and a room with internet accessible computers. The kitchen was also very clean.

On one of the nights there was a storm that came through and 100kmph winds and rain. Our tent survived and the next morning debris from the trees was strewn everywhere. The owner came all the way down to us to make sure we had survived the night ok which was nice.

Our stay was very pleasant and the owners were very friendly and accommodating. The motel units there also looked nice! We will definitely stay there if we are back up that way.

We stayed at this holiday park while driving through from the east coast towards Mt. Cook. We chose the en-suite cabin with kitchenette. There was a toaster, kettle, plates, pans, etc. There was no stove in the room but there was a BBQ station right outside. The heater worked really well and electric blankets were also on the beds. The cabin seemed new and in good condition. I would stay again if passing through.
