“Lovely coffee”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2014 via mobile

I got my weekend coffee here when I was visiting recently. Although I didn't order any food this time, from what I could see it looked generous and yummy. And everything was reasonably priced. The person who served me was friendly and efficient and most importantly, the coffee was great.

“Not as good as they think they are”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2014

We dropped into the Three Bears for a late lunch on our way through Renwick. We had heard it was worth stopping there so maybe we expected too much.

The food was over priced and pretty mundane, although nicely presented. The coffee and hot chocolate were pretty average really.

In addition, my husband got told off for having mud on his shoes and while we were eating, a woman came out and actually began to sweep the floor. Not only was this extremely rude, it was also unhealthy. The floor was vinyl and this cafe is situated in a rural community so a bit of dry mud should not be too foreign for them.

Instead of taking themselves too seriously, the staff in this cafe could do with some genuine KiwiHost training. We were most disappointed with their attitude.

“Great food, great coffee, great staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 May 2014

Always a favourite for my kids but a very nice place to sit down for a quiet coffee before work, during work or after work. Date scoffins (muffin/scone) and anything with Heike's lemon curd will get you coming back. On a business level, the food supplied for corporate functions has always been well received.
