What a beautiful setting the hotel was in, and easy to get to, plenty of room for parking . Our hosts were very friendly, good size room with all the facilities. We had breakfast and dinner which were marvellous our hostess was a really great chef. If you're sightseeing at Fox Glacier this is the ideal place to stay.

This is a MUST-STAY in Fox Glacier. The room is clean and cozy, and the owners are very very helpful and nice. I stayed here for 2 nights, and enjoyed it very much. I may say this is my best stay in NZ.

This hotel was in excellent condition and the owners were very hospitable and made us feel most welcome. The view from the restaurant was amazing and the dinner food was very good as were the breakfasts. Definitely worth considering if you are going to stay at Fox Glacier.

This motel's not in the heart of the town so there's no traffic/noise at night time - what a great nights sleep!

The place was spotless upon arrival, the bathroom massive and the huge bed was very comfortable and toasty warm.

Our hosts were very accommodating - lovely spot overall.

Stayed for 2 nights early November en route from Hokitika to Wanaka but despite the wet weather had a very enjoyable stay. Yes the mountains do exist although we had doubted this on the first morning but at breakfast the next day we had the most amazing view as the cloud lifted and the peaks were bathed in sunshine. The eexperience of Fox Glacier even in the rain was well worth getting soaked for. Now about the hotel. This is a very enjojable place to stay: very comfortable and very welcoming owners. Food was very reasonably priced and very good quality.

We stayed one night in mid-November, passing through, and we were pleased to have booked here. The owners/managers were pleasant and helpful, and the hotel is very well made - no sound carries between rooms, which are large and well equipped. The exterior looks (perhaps disappointingly) somewhat like a standard Motel and indeed High Peaks has Motel aspects. The rooms have a separate sink in the bedroom beside that in the shower room. Our room also had a small fridge (a bit noisy), wine glasses, a kettle and coffee/ tea making sets. All of this we found helpful. As to location, it's set a bit out of Fox Glacier, away from the mountains, on the flat towards Lake Matheson. Rough bush separates and shields the hotel from the village, so the view of the mountains is uninterrupted - really brilliant the morning we left. Free wifi was welcome. We thought the evening meal offered (still just out of season) a bit limited as to menu and pricy, but appreciated what we ordered. For a night travelling through we found High Peaks very good.
