A few days before our trip a bridge piece of the ice had snapped off, so we weren't able to climb part of the actual glacier, just a smaller piece of ice in front of the glacier. Clearly not Fox Glacier Guiding's fault, but disappointed as a paying customer all the same.
The group was too large in my opinion & it was incredibly hard to hear the guide over the group.
If you're not overly confident walking on ice, the Fox Trot trip is for you. Although it sounds easy, it's quite difficult & nervy walking on the ice, even with crampons.
You also had to cross 2 rivers on the way with stepping stones, which some people found nerve racking. So just prepare yourself for the possibility of wet socks!
Our guide was lovely, but didn't seem overly confident speaking in a large group.
Disappointed that it was raining for our trip & didn't have the option of a refund. The girls at the counter would happily reschedule, but we didn't have enough time.
