“Absolutely stunning, good for all ages, highly recommended.”

We recently took the 30 minute twin peaks tour (tour 3) not long after we arrived in Franz Josef. Neither of us had been in a helicopter before so the ride was awesome fun. The views from the heli are breathtaking in every direction and a really nice way to see Franz. We spotted some mountain goats so keep your eyes peeled. You get to see both glaciers and we even stopped on top of the mountain for a 10 minute play in the snow which was a really nice touch. This is also when they let you switch seats (front to back and vice versa) so everyone can see the different points of view. We'd both highly recommend one of their tours. Thanks Jamie and team!

“Mountain rescue!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014 via mobile

Very clear, sunny day in July, fabulous view of the glaciers, we took the flight that landed on Franz Josef, and flew over Fox. We discovered en route that there were 3 missing climbers, so we took a small detour to see if we could spot them. Honestly just like the very best edge of the seat film, the pilot was about to give up and carry on with the tour, when my wife spotted 3 people, they were in fact the 3 lost Australian climbers! They dropped a man off to help them and arranged their evacuation from the mountain. Apart from that excitement it was a truly fabulous ride, totally worth doing.

“Do It!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014

My son and I took this helicopter trip up the glacier. Fantastic scenery experience flying up the ice sheet; gives an appreciation of how vast it is, which you can't see from down the bottom. Helicopter landed up the top and we walked around until the guide found ice caves to climb down through where you can see the blue ice. Beautiful and a blue colour that is extraordinary. We scooped up the glacial melt to drink. The purest water you can have, frozen when there was no pollution on earth. It is completely tasteless; neutral and slightly 'airy' in the mouth. Exquisite.
Recommend this experience highly. Will do it again if I get back there. The weather is flukey here and we went very early in the morning when the conditions were perfect. We could see the weather closing in from the coast as we returned and the pilot said that would be it for the day. So you could be unlucky on your chosen day. This happened to my wife and I in Hawaii.

“Fly With Someone Else”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014 via mobile

We wanted to take the 40 minute flight, but were told that no, the weather wasn't good and was going to deteriorate and we should get in now as the next couple of days would not be good weatherwise.

What a load of rubbish!

The next morning was fine and beautiful. These guys are supposed to know well what the weather forecast was shaping up to be. Even we were able to see online that the next couple of days were going to be lovely days, conducive to flying.

The pilot must have not wanted to come to work that day, Monday, as we got very little commentary, and things were mentioned twice. We landed on the snow and it seemed like an effort to have a photo taken. No effort was made to take a photo of us on our own camera.

The flight itself was ok.

Very little effort was made to ensure the passengers in the back seats got to see the views that the passengers in the front received. Makes it hard to take photos and helicopters can fly side ways as we have learnt from another operator.

As a business owners we have learnt that there are only two problems with staff, attitudinal and lack of education, either way the owners need to do something about this pilot unless of course they have a similar attitude towards their customers.

I would not recommend this company. Go somewhere else and spend your money. Don't waste it with this company.

“Breathtaking!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 April 2014 via mobile

This is just beyond words. We were overwhelmed with the Helicopter tour that we did in Franz Josef. Flying and landing on top of the glaciers of Franz Josef, Fox Glaciers, Mt. Cook and Tasman Glaciers. The staff are very friendly and polite. Well experienced pilots. I would recommend this company for those who would like to experience the same adventure. It's not cheap but compared to the other helitour company in the area this company gives the best competitive price.
