We had passed here on a previous visit to Franz Josef and had promised if we returned to make this our stopover and we are so glad we did. Bernie is a lovely hostess who sat with us on arrival and gave us all the recent news of the area and answered our questions about her striking home and the work which had obviously been lovingly bestowed. on it. This is very apparent in the bedrooms with their own ensuite both beautifully decorated and very comfortable.
after consulting with Bernie and going over the menus provided we settled on a meal at the Blue Ice Cafe which was excellent. On return we sat in the cosy, wood panelled front room with a glass of port courtesy of our hosts. A perfect end to the evening. In the morning we had breakfast at the large wooden dining table, a generous selection of jams, cereals fruit and yoghurt while Gerard cooked up a storm in the adjoining kitchen
