“Was just fine”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

After my rainforest walk I had coffee and chips at the cafe, the potion of chips was big and coffee was fine as well.

“Whitebait fritters”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

We almost needed a magnifying glass to find the whitebait. The fritters were disappointing. Service was good and the coffee reasonable. Next door was an Activities Centre where the woman helping us made our booking for the trans-alpine railway between Greymouth and Christchurch.

“Cyclone Buffet”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Jamie and his crew for opening Full Of Beans for all the locals and the tourists and King Tiger on Saturday, you guys worked your butt off, the food was great and well worth the expense of a mere $25. We all know you didn't do this for profit, just out of good nature to help us all get a hot meal during the power outage. Great job guys!

“Big rip off - exploited tourists due to power outage”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

Majority of restaurants in franz josef were closed Good Friday due to power lines cut and this will probably continue through Easter. This place put on a buffet meal - nothing wrong with that - using generator power. $25 per head. That is okay too. But it is not okay to keep selling the meal when part of the meal is not available. Salad greens were heading for the slimy stages. Think it was beef strog which was fine but no rice! All gone. Waiter says no more. Nothing to mop it up with. No bread, no mash, just a tablespoon of pasta that was already in a sauce. Cold pies? ordinary sausages that werent even warm? $25?? A credit to them for providing meals under difficult circumstances but at $25, it was the biggest rip off I have seen in 2 weeks in New Zealand. Shame on you. You should have stopped accepting money or reduced the cost. You were making money hand over fist. GREEDY GREEDY GREEDY
