“Great food!”
Reviewed 15 March 2014

The cakes in this little bakery are 'to die for', especially the doughnuts! The smell of baking as you walk in the shop is fabulous. The choice of cakes and pasties makes decision on what to buy difficult, everything looks so appetising! I had a lovely vegetable pasty for lunch and took a selection of cakes out, the prices were very good compared to the supermarkets in New Zealand.

“Dreadful place”
Reviewed 10 March 2014 via mobile

This little cafe looks enticing, but unfortunately we did not have a good experience. Partly this was due to the young girl who was serving us, who was rather rude in manner (not a Kiwi). It's rough n ready fare - sausage rolls and pasties and the like, which was fine by us, but they were rather doughy and lukewarm. The tea and coffee are self service on a unit with a kettle and some mugs. Felt a little like an international youth hostel. The tea was cheap and poor quality, and the coffee just simple filter into a jug. They have a wide range of pastries. My friend had a donut which was stale. They do sell their previous day's donuts for $2 each, but this was apparently a fresh (full-price) one. The seats outside were dirty. Overall, it was a bad experience. There are other cafés around the village offering far better food, coffee and comfort.

Great little bakery. Looking for a quick lunch after our glacier tour. Couldn't leave with a donut. Very tasty.

“Great place for break”
Reviewed 6 March 2014

Stopped off here to get a coffee before driving to Fox Glacier. Couldn't resist the sausage rolls and the cakes looked amazing. Not badly priced and a good size portion. Worth a visit.
