“Apple pie”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

Great apple pie was Home baked and huge.
The chicken spring rolls were also tasty.
Huge funky decor was a out of place in this OLD town but cool and retro didn't mean expensive..

“Outstanding meal at the foot of the mountains”
Reviewed 15 July 2014 via mobile

My wife and I had a wonderful meal here. We ordered the Thai Red Curry, and being Thai food aficionados, we were predictably wary, given that we were pretty far from any of New Zealand's more built up areas.

Boy were we surprised! The curry was delicious, and the award winning carrot cake (I know, a weird combination...) was outstanding as well. We had a chance afterwards to speak with the owner and he told us that the carrot cake is actually made by his sister. He was a warm, thoughtful guy, and we wish him the best as he grows his business over the coming years!

If you are in Franz Josef, give this place a shot. You won't be disappointed.

“Great food, wonderful service”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

We parked in Franz Joseph and looked for a place for a bite to eat. Lots of empty cafes but this one was semi-busy. We were greated by a very cheerful staff member and was happy to pack our meals to-go (we wanted to continue on, as we had a long drive ahead). So many delecious asian-inspired foods! We had a Stem Bun (and ended up buying a second, as it was so delicious), a chicken roll and a 5-spoce minced meat roll. They were all delicious, and far above what we expected from a small town. And cheerful service that left a great impression.

“Authentic asian flavours”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

Coming from Asia, it was lovely to see an Asian fusion restaurant in an unexpected place, but again coming from Asia where cheap good food is abundant, it was a small cultural shock to see the prices considering that the food would have been typical street fare. Nevertheless it is an authentic flavour, and the service was superlative.
