Ordered the nachos - it was sloppy, meat tasted funny, corn chips were really soggy and the whole meal was a weird mix of flavours that didnt work well. Hubby had a toasted sandwich - over priced, under delivered. Wouldn't go there again.

I ate there on 3 different occasions, twice for lunch and once for dinner. The food was consistent and of good quality. Their spirit selection was a bit limited, but not a big issue.

How many restaurants are to be found in FJG? Not many. So you pick The Landing. It has a cozy atmosphere. And the night we had dinner it was Quiz Night! The place was loaded with locals. So the staff had to work very hard to bring food and drinks. They managed well. Wedges, Pork Ribs and Lamb Salad were as you can expect; The Whitebait was too dry (and not on the menu anymore?). I loved the Speights Old Black Beer!
Later on we found out that our drinks weren't charged.

We had a long drive from wanaka and once we reached franz glacier we just wanted to have some food as were famished. Entered the bar and the atmosphere was beautifully done with screening of world cup. Shortly, the food came and we started eating. After a while, we realised the chicken breast was a bit uncooked and told the staff.. Staff came back and replied us that they were apologetic as the chicken was too thick and probably why it was nt fully cooked. Staff suggested do we want any other food.. but that was not the point as we already quite full with other portion of food.. The staff charged us in full which I think it was disappointing. I thought maybe a slight discount would make us feel better.. And not just telling us because the chicken breast was too thick.. I mean.. u can see how thick it was before u put it on the pan.. So abit disappointed the first thing u encountered when u reached a new town . Cheers

We decided to stop in the landing for a quick dinner on our last night in Franz Josef. We ordered starters, beers, sodas, soups, salads and a lamb dish that came on some sort of puff pastry with vegetables. The food came out quick and the service was good. It wasn't anything special but it was a nice meal and we both left relatively full.
