Nusa Island Retreat is very remote but well worth the visit. Located on an island 5 minutes boat ride off Kavieng, the retreat provides very comfortable and spacious accommodation, delightfully constructed in a mixture of timber and other local materials, in a lush enclave beneath swaying coconut palms and beside clear turquoise waters.
The Retreat is built around a large haus wind dining area and bar with a sand floor and the casual, laid back mood of the resort is absolutely appropriate for the beautiful tropical location. Facilities and sporting equipment are excellent and a picnic and snorkel on a nearby island to which we were taken by boat was wonderful, with delicious catering and cold beers provided.
The food is great and plentiful, with a wonderful smorgasbord of different and original dishes at dinner, the management and staff very friendly and efficient and attention to detail excellent. Management is also very caring about the local Papua New Guineans, providing them with employment and other generous support, which is very much to their credit.
A highly recommended destination.More
