“GOOD FOOD AND ATMOSPHERE”
Reviewed 7 October 2013

Directly opposite the Gizo Dive Centre and down a little path to the Bar and Dining area of PT 109 with beautiful views over Vella Lagoon for the evening. Staff are friendly and helpful. Meals are great. The only drawback is that they do not open on Saturdays or Sundays.

“Sunset Solbrew & Lobster”
Reviewed 13 July 2013

When in Gizo, a must-do dining experience is the PT109 lobster. For me it was the best priced, most generously proportioned (both tails!) and most delicious lobster I had ever tasted. To avoid disappointment, phone ahead your booking and food order. Owners Laurie and Regina are very efficient hosts - Laurie is always ready with a story and a smile, and Regina is a master in the kitchen. The staff were always very friendly - especially Aggie who is an outstanding waitress. If you'd like to mingle with expats over a sunset Solbrew beer and enjoy the boat traffic, Friday nights from Happy Hour is an ideal time. If you need to loosen your belt (after the lobster), PT109 also hosts a disco night (Weds, Thurs & Fri). The disco is very popular with locals and plays a mix of Solomon and Western tunes. A really excellent retreat!

“Potentially an icon bar in the South Pacific”
Reviewed 28 April 2013

It was a little underwhelming, but the service was great and the beer icy cold. Needs updating but could easily become one of the icon bars in the South Pacific

“Delicious ginger mud crab - great overwater seating”
Reviewed 3 September 2011

Had sunset drinks then dinner here on a Friday night with 10 friends. 4 of us had the ginger mud crab and it was delicious, ony $120 SBD for a whole crab. Supper messy but a finger bowl was provided. They also do great crayfish but were all sold out when we visited. Outdoor seating overlooking the water is a great spot for sundowners.
Later on it becomes a disco popular with the locals, pretty entertaining viewing!
