great views - sit on veranda and watch the ocean change colour at sunrise and sunset. Family run guest house - clean although older style house. When you approach the guest house it looks just like a house and the family are often cooking in the leaf hut kitchen at the front. Don't be put off by this go up and have a look at the rooms and facilities. Copes with 2-5 people easily but there is only one toilet and shower. Like most of Gizo water pressure is low. We moved to Phoebes after a night at a very popular lodge (Re______ ) that didnt have half the view and had no water pressure! Very happy. Bit of a walk up the hill - however you are living in suburban Gizo and you can mix with locals and watch them go about everyday life. Family always there for assistance to eg help fillet a fresh yellow fin tuna (Solomon $ 40 at the markets and simply the best fish i have ever eaten). If there are few people staying a Phoebes its excellent value for money, a house to yourself!
Very close to hospital, 7 minutes to Gizo Hotel, about 13 minutes to markets, 15 minutes to dive shop.
