Our stay at this Inn was perfect in every way. It was at the start of our road trip, and we were wowed as we drove up the drive, the initial view is stunning. The setting is perfect, perched on top on the cliff, with the snow capped mountains in the back ground. Janet & Dan our hosts were so nice, friendly & welcoming. We were the only guests staying at the time & we have never had such a peaceful, luxurious stay anywhere. Breakfast was different every day & really nice food, served in the verandah (inside), with views over the sea to Vancouver Island. We were even treated to deer on the lawn.
Our room was the Surveyors Retreat (one of the smaller! rooms), however by our standards the room was huge, with a very spacious bathroom and whirlpool bath (overlooking the sea). Every attention to detail has been made with this property, the quality of fittings and bedding etc is superb.
There is free wifi & access to a pc & the library where we used the time & materials for the finer planning details of our trip. Port Angeles is 10 minutes drive away, and Janet made us reservation at Kokopelli's (really good restaurant) on our first night. Our subsequent nights we just grabbed food and ate on the verandah, as we just wanted to spend time there. At the time we visited (June) the lavender was coming out giving a beautiful purple haze to the garden.
I felt offended when I read a couple of negative reviews from people who had never even stayed here. This is a private residence, and as a guest I would not have wanted other people tramping around either. Anyone who has actually stayed here I'm sure would feel the same as we did. This is a perfect place in a fantastic location, with fantastic hosts. We have made a pact that we will stay here again sometime.
