“Not really a lodge, but a decent choice nonethless”
Reviewed 6 December 2013

Upon arrival, I was surprised to find that this "lodge" is really in the middle of a commercial area just off the highway. However, once inside, it does back onto a golf course, so the views are nice from that side of the hotel and you don't feel that you are right in town. The rooms facing the road (at least on the upper levels) do have a view of the water over the highway and business corridor. The lobby is lovely.

The rooms are nicely decorated in keeping with the lodge theme and have a refrigerator and microwave, along with standard complimentary toiletries. The bed was comfortable and the rooms are clean and well-maintained. Staff is very friendly. Corridors are very long, so you can find yourself a long way from the elevator. Had no problems with noise.

They offer soup and cookies in the evening, which is a nice touch. The thing I find very odd is that breakfast is not included, which is really pretty standard for this price point. There is a restaurant that serves breakfast only (order off the menu, not buffet), but the cost is extra. The layout of the restaurant makes it clear it is set up for the standard self-service breakfast, so I don't know why it isn't offered. They don't even have coffee service available, unless of course you buy it in the restaurant for $3.25 a cup. You can make coffee in your room, but I'm never happy with the in-room coffee makers. Traveling on business, the ability to quickly grab something and be on my way is important, so I found the lack of an included breakfast to be disappointing.

There are so many great things about this place. The rooms are very well done, the blinds close all the way and block out light, nice tv, comfy bed, clean modern bathroom with great shower and a sink inside and outside the bathroom, ver nice outdoor heated pool and hot tub, little fridge and microwave, working ice machines on each floor, nice sitting area in the lobby, friendly desk staff, easy access, nice lighting. All this for a ver fair price. Definitely worth the extra $15 over what we were quoted for some other places in Port Angeles. Can't really find anything to complain about except no complimentary breakfast items.

Olympic Lodge-Port Angeles Washington-Date of stay 09/03 & 09/04/13

We stayed at the Olympic Lodge in Port Angeles Washington for two nights while touring the Olympic Peninsula. This Hotel was only 5 minutes from downtown and the ferry to Victoria Canada. It is only about 45 minutes to an hour from the Historic Downtown of Port Townsend, with great restaurants and shops, Port Angeles has a nice downtown as well. You are also about 1 to 1 1/2 hours from the rain forest in * which is a must see. The hotel itself is very clean and the view of the golf course from the big windows in the lobby is nice. The hotel staff is very accommodating, there is a restaurant on site, but while we were there they only served breakfast. The room we had was on the larger size and overlooked the golf course which was a nice setting. I would recommend a stay at this hotel.

We stayed at the Olympic Lodge while visiting Olympic Nat'l Park. It is super easy to get into the Park and sites you want to see, such as Hurricane Ridge, from the hotel. The desk staff was very helpful for in-town recommendations and how to get to Canada on the ferry. Wish the pool was indoors and don't bother to pay for the gold course view. Rooms were very spacious and clean.

Stayed recently for a work trip. The front desk staff was great, very courteous and personable. Rooms were roomy and well appointed. The decor is very classic for the region, nothing fancy but nice and clean. The lobby is lovely, and the free cookies and soup area nice touch. Overall it's a very comfortable stay for both business and pleasure.

Room Tip: Might be worth getting a room facing away from highway if you're around to enjoy the view.

We loved this lodge... The King View room was large and comfortable, the two sinks were nice, and we liked having a refrigerator and microwave, too. In the evening we enjoyed the large crackling fire in the lobby and the homemade cookies (and Soup) available in the breakfast room. We brought our cookies to the fire and enjoyed them with a glass of wine (we brought our own wine). Beautiful. In the morning we had a wonderful breakfast (not included). My husband even used the outdoor heated pool -- in October! We would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for recommending the Olympic Lodge! I'm glad you enjoyed your bathroom--people seem to love having two sinks to make the morning ablutions that much easier. It’s nice to hear that you were also able to enjoy our breakfast bistro. Thank you again for such a lovely review and we hope to see you again soon!

When first arriving at the driveway to the Olympic Lodge, we were put off by all the commercial
sprawl around the property, thinking this Lodge would be located off by itself in some pristine wooded glen. We got over our disappointment, however, and went inside only to be captivated by
the magical way they have turned this stunning lodge into a sanctuary. The landscaping, fountains and trees placed strategically along the glass walled back of the Lodge make you instantly forget
The ugliness on the street out front. Our room looked out over the golf course, the mountains and those gorgeous trees and plantings. The rooms are wonderful, the bathrooms even better, with lots of great amenities, pillows and towels. We were very comfortable and happy here. The whole lodge is spanking clean and the decor is charming and eye pleasing. The bistro restaurant was the
best breakfast I had on this trip, just delicious ! It took awhile for our room to be ready, but we had
the best room in the hotel and it was the Crabfest weekend, so overall, they did a great job taking
care of all of us. The national parks were closed due to the govt. shutdown, but the Olympic Lodge
gave us some local beauty and hospitality for which we are grateful. I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Top floor facing the golf course !
