“Cozy and Clean”
Reviewed 11 September 2010

We stayed at the Olympic Lodge during a two-day trip to the Olympic Peninsula. The beds were pleasantly comfortable and the bathrooms were tidy. It provided a perfect landing spot after a long day of hiking.
I woke up a couple hours before the others in my room, and the cozy couches in the lobby provided the perfect spot for me to curl up and enjoy a good book while waiting for them to rise.
We enjoyed a delicious, hearty breakfast at the hotel in the morning, though it probably wasn't the cheapest option for some oatmeal and eggs.
Gorgeous pictures from around the Peninsula were scattered throughout the walls. Since the fog was ever-present during our visit, we appreciated at least being able to enjoy the views through the photography!

Absolutely awesome ammenities. Tile and granite. The golf side of the hotel was so beautiful. Cons: grounds left in coffee pot, glasses and cups were dirty, hair on toilet seat, no tissue, screen on patio door was off and set against hedge, funny smudge marks on patio door @ a dogs height! When we went to the front desk, our issues were handled immediately, but another guest came in with a bloody towel that was hanging on his towel rack! Hopefully the housekeeping issues are remedied. Such a beautiful place.

Very nice and clean hotel overall. Had one housekeeping issue and they jumped on it with good customer service. Served breakfast which was pricy but good, ate here twice and once at the restaurant in front of hotel which was as good and better prices. We saw Hoh Rain Forest, Rialto Beach and Hurricane Ridge (all just awesome if you like the outdoors) over 3 days and also went to Lake Crescent lodge for dinner twice. Both times we got food and drinks in the bar and watched an incredible sunset over the lake. We heard the fine dining room was hit or miss and that was like the bar food, fish and chips and burgers okay but an outstanding clam chowder overpriced at $7 in the bar but so good my wife ordered seconds anyway. We figured with this view and average priced bar food who cares if something was not stellar from the kitchen. The lake lodge was about 25 minutes away and was booked but we paid less here at Olympic Lodge for a nicer room and still enjoyed eating and hiking at the lake lodge.

The Olympic Lodge far exceeded our expectations! This hotel was beautiful, starting with the warm and inviting lobby, the lovely decor in all of the hallways, and ending with the fabulous room! Our room was so roomy, comfortable and impeccably clean. The bathroom was luxurious! We appreciated everything about this hotel. The front desk staff was very helpful and accomodating as well. This would definitely be our first choice if we were in the Port Angeles area again.

This clean and attractive hotel leaves you with no complaints. It will leave you with a small hole in your wallet though and, after your trip, you may wonder whether it was worth it. The rooms are small but pleasant. The pool is large but cold. The views are of a Super 8 and the busy 101 or, if you pay more, of a golf course (not sure which I'd prefer).

The staff are helpful and friendly. It would have been nice if breakfast and the internet was included. It seems the more you pay to stay at these American hotels, the more hidden extra costs you incur.

The best thing about this hotel which is, after all, why you'd want to visit it, is its proximity to Hurricane Ridge.

The Olympic Lodge provides a great night's sleep in a lovely "lodge" atmosphere. Rooms are comfortable and roomy. Pool and outdoor space is relaxing and gardenlike due to golf course behind the hotel. Pool hours could be extended a little. A great place to stay before heading into the park.
