“One of the best!”
Reviewed 14 January 2014

My wife and I have stayed at dozens of B&B's around North America and Sea Cliff Gardens is at/near the top of that list. The innkeeper/chef Lydia is friendly and helpful, not to mention she cooks a great breakfast. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The location is great - far away from any automobile traffic and overlooking the ocean. We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: The house was built as a B&B, so all the rooms are great and have views of the backyard and ocea...

My husband and I stayed at Sea Cliff Gardens for four nights in the Victoria's Repose room downstairs. We had a wonderful experience. Amazingly, it did not rain the five days that we were there so we were able to walk the grounds and really enjoy the sights including the eagles and hummingbirds. Lydia, the innkeeper, was wonderful and her hospitality and kindness is what made our stay most memorable. That and BREAKFAST! Each day, we had a gourmet three course breakfast. Breakfast is an experience that you will look forward to each morning. The dining room is beautiful and it was wonderful to sip coffee and overlook the garden.

We also enjoyed the special touches such as the selection of classic books, dvds, coupons and travel information, umbrellas to borrow and fresh baked cookies delivered to your room each night.

We will absolutely be back.

Room Tip: The downstairs room--Victoria's repose is the only room on the first floor and is private and qu...

A very comfortable and welcoming place. Complete solitude for us on an adventure away from the city and the stress of work. We loved Lydia and her cooking! We stopped at the Olympic Winery and picked a bottle of wine before and then had a picnic at Sea Cliff overlooking the coastline. It was wonderful!

I should preface this review by saying that I hate B&Bs. Hate. Them. I generally like the privacy and anonymity of hotels, and I loathe porcelain cat figurines and mismatched decor.

But Sea Cliff Gardens is no ordinary B&B. This is a gorgeous house that is tastefully decorated and that has an amazing view of the water. My husband and I stayed in the Marie Antoinette room and were pleasantly surprised that the promised ocean view was more than just a glimpse of water; the "sitting area" of the room looks straight across the beautiful lawn to the ocean, where you can watch the occasional ship go by. You can also sit out in the yard or walk out to the cliff that gives the B&B its name.

Lydia, the wonderful innkeeper, was incredibly friendly yet not intrusive. She made sure we knew about all of the thoughtful (free!) amenities the business offers-- popcorn and a microwave downstairs, an extensive dvd library with all the latest titles, extra towels, bottles of water and cans of soda, and every sort of toiletry we might have forgotten. They provide wine glasses and a cork screw in the room, and we were greeted by delicious eggnog cookies.

In the morning, Lydia cooked a gourmet 3-course breakfast. We were so full by the second course that we had to take our "dessert" (java truffles!) to go! Lydia also answered all of our questions about the area and gave us some tips on what would be best to see given our limited time and bad weather.

Overall, this is one of the best places we've ever stayed. If we hadn't had non-refundable reservations in Astoria for the following night, we would have stayed an extra day. We can't wait to come back in the summer!

Sea Cliff Gardens is a unique B&B because it is not a home converted into a B&B, but was built (15 years ago?) as a B&B. So the layout is perfect. Attractive large room with large dining room table for breakfast overlooking the backyard with all the beautiful flowers and the ocean beyond. All the bedrooms are very large. Ours was on the second floor with a king bed, large picture window with 2 rocking chairs facing the backyard, fireplace, in-room jacuzzi, and nice sized bathroom. All the furniture were high quality pieces and the whole room was very tastefully decorated. Lydia, the a Innkeeper & breakfast chef, was very friendly and helpful on sights to see and her breakfasts were delicious and varied (we stayed 3 nights and had different delicious breakfasts each morning). The owner of Sea Cliff actually lives across the street and she does all the gardening in the front and back of the house.......beautiful, lush gardens. One afternoon, my husband and I walked through the backyard and sat in the comfortable Adirondeck chairs on the cliff overlooking the ocean and read. Even saw the bald eagle family that lives on the edge of their property. Very tranquil setting. My one recommendation would be to make a stone path through the backyard to the cliff.....the grass can be quite wet. A lovely B&B which totally deserves the #1 ranking of B&Bs in Port Angeles.

What a lovely experience---the room was luxurious, the ocean scenery was incredible, the grounds were impecably kept, the breakfasts were truly gourment and Lydia's friendly, welcoming manner was the icing on the cake. Guests are treated like royalty at this B & B; it was the absolute best stay we have had so far at a B&B. Many thanks for a wonderful stay!!

Before we even checked in Lydia, the Inn Keeper, was in communication with me in assistance to area restaurants and attractions. This was a surprise getaway for my boyfriend's 30th birthday and he was happily surprised. The view from our room was perfect and the amenities were wonderful. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a little romance without the coldness of hotel. It was as comfortable as being at home with the luxury of being away.

Room Tip: Jacuzzi rooms are the best.
