This is not your typical B&B. The 5 acre setting is nothing short of spectacular. It sits on a bluff overlooking the Strait of Juan De Fuca . Within the site are five completely different gardens. Each one lovingly attended to by the 2-3 gardeners. Monet, himself, would be delighted with his garden. Moving inside the house, we find a beautiful, eclectic collection of Asian art and artifacts.
This before having breakfast. My wife, Madeline, who has foods memories(and similar name) positively loved the gourmet breakfast, as I did.
If your travels take you to the Great Northwest, this B&B is a must.

Jack and Madeline, we are humbled by your kind words. Ryan and Gerry work tirelessly on our gardens to ensure they provide a tranquil haven for both guests and "natural visitors" alike (like the beautiful family of Bald Eagles who call our small neck of the woods home!). We so appreciate you allowing us to host you on your vacation and for taking the time to let us know how we're doing. We hope you'll come back and visit with us again soon! :-)

5 stars are not enough! We had the most wonderful time here. The room was great, the breakfast amazing and the view fantastic. But what made our stay outstanding was the hospitality of the owner and the inn keeper (and the pillow). We instantly felt at home and stayed longer than we intended to. We hope to come back soon. Unfortunately it's a long way from Germany.

Kim! Thank you soooo much for your kind words. We loved having you visit here with us.... I noticed you already got your reservation in for your next visit. The entire staff is excited to have you back so soon! And we're so glad that after endless searching for the perfect pillow, you found it here on the bed of the Ming Suite. :-) Hopefully it has been providing many nights of happy dreams! See you soon......

Wonderful place to get away from modern life. It is totally quite and a great place to read, write or contemplate life in a garden like nature setting, overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
The French style breakfast is gourmet and deliciously satisfying. It is served on a beautiful table setting. The Renoir Suite is spacious and the main room is accented by a 15+ ft fireplace. It was very difficult to light. The suite was chilly but space heaters are provided. The decorations and furniture are an Asian theme with unique pieces of furniture. The bookcases abound with books of all kinds. The staff is very friendly and one feels very pampered. One can tell that they love their jobs and care for the guests. We wished we could have stayed longer and will return someday.

Ed,

Thank you for the kind words. We're in the process of major refurbishments and renovations all across the property and definitely appreciate your feedback: new lights and heaters in the Renoir (and wonderful throw blankets to cuddle up with your sweetie!). Check. We're brainstorming how to best make that happen.

It could be worse...given the sweltering heat most of the country is feeling right now, we're definitely enjoying the 60-70 degree weather and slightly chilly nights with millions of stars to ponder and crashing waves to fill your senses.....

Based on your immediate experience with lighting the fire, we tested some new fire-starting bundles the very next day and think we've got that resolved so guests can light their fires (in the Ming and Renoir suites) much easier (the other rooms have gas fireplaces, so lighting is as easy as pushing the button on the remote control).

Part of the renovations definitely focus on improving lighting all across the property. We've swapped out 80% of the lighting and are working on the rest over the next few weeks. All new LED lights wherever possible, with an emphasis on warm, intimate lighting that still allows you to curl up with a good book without going blind. :-)

We look forward to your next visit. The number one complaint we hear from all of our guests is that they should have stayed longer... hopefully you'll be able to stay a week next time and soak in all the amazing local relaxation.

My husband and I travel a bit and this is one of the most spectacular places we've been to. Everything about it was just right. The owner that we met, Jeri, has created an unbelievably beautiful and peaceful haven. Beautiful views, gorgeous gardens. The passion she and her staff put into everything shows. Her staff is spectacular - I hesitate to mention anyone by name because everyone was so warm and friendly and committed to making a beautiful place and we'd hate to leave anyone out.

The inn itself is really pretty - lots of windows and natural light, and a really, really comfortable bed. Our room had a huge deck and we spent many hours listening to the foghorns in the Strait, and watching the stars. There is very little light pollution out there so the sky views are so bright.

While the inn is a little off the beaten track, it sets visitors up in a great spot to get to Olympic National park, or to just enjoy being off the beaten track. We were in town right before the Lavender festival, so we got to enjoy the lavender but no crowds.

We were completely surprised by the breakfast part of the bed and breakfast. We went to the dining room expecting a delicious stack of pancakes or something like it, but were utterly wowed by a gourmet 5 course meal. All local foods and treats (and they are starting a farm, and planning on growing an increasing amount of food on the property) were used in creating the meal. Not only was everything delicious - it was beautiful (they grow lots of edible flowers to use for the food presentation).

Breakfast is served at a community dining room table, seating maybe 8 people. Jeri, and Steven, one of the inn keepers, explain each course, help plan the day's adventure, make dinner reservations, and are great hosts. We met some really nice people - one morning spending 2 hours at breakfast because we were enjoying Jeri and the others so much.

It is close to a small town Sequim, and between Sequim and the eastern side of Port Angeles. We expected to find some good diners, or great burgers, but instead some really fantastic restaurants.

We couldn't have been more happily surprised that we found this idyllic place.

Thanks Jeri and everyone!!! We hope to be back soon.

Room Tip: The Ming room had a huge deck overlooking Strait of Juan de Fuca - stunning views and great star gaz...

Amy,

Thank you for the amazingly kind words. The entire staff is so grateful for wonderful guests like you! You're so right about being "off the beaten path" (that's why we have those amazing unspoiled views of the ocean!) but perfectly located to be your "home base" for the entire Olympic National Park and Peninsula.

Our breakfast takes everyone by surprise: we source as much as possibly we can from small, local farms and shops. One of the biggest challenges is trying to explain our amazing 5 course breakfast-brunch-feast to guests who haven't been here before.... who else features house-made crab cakes, breads, house-smoked salmon (Ryan still won't give out the secret recipe as much as we keep trying!), and those amazing homemade desserts!!?

It's a bunch of work for us, but having fantastic guests like you makes it all worth it.

We look forward to your next visit with us!

Stayed for six days at this lovely place. The website doesn't even begin to capture its beauty and serenity. We travel extensively using bed and breakfasts and we have never been treated as well by innkeepers as we were at Domaine Madeleine. One note: the two best rooms are the Renoir and the Ming, the Monet is much smaller.

Thank you so much for the kind words and for choosing to stay with us. We are honored that you felt so at home here and look forward to you visiting us again (soon!).

And, yes, we are working on quickly updating our website to showcase all of the amazing improvements you experienced: new beds with soft luxurious linens, new sustainable (and amazing!) amenities, new locally-roasted Ethiopian coffee, refreshed gardens and public spaces.... we are improving everything across the property faster than our website and marketing can keep up! We do appreciate the amazing feedback and will continue to work hard to earn your praise with every stay.

We stayed 6 glorious days in June 2014 and each one was magical-Creative gourmet breakfasts served on a beautifully set table overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Our gracious hosts attended to all our requests to ensure our comfort at Madeleine and our ease in touring the area. Creative gardens within their natural setting and flowering shrubs allowed for relaxing walks through out our stay. We will talk about our memorable stay at Madeleine for years to come and we will return.

My sweetheart and I stayed at Domaine Madeleine in late May 2014. Overall, this was better than any other place I've ever stayed, whether B&B, resort, luxury hotel, whatever. The room was lovely and had every amenity. The extensive grounds are beautifully planted with ferns, fir trees, and a great variety of flowers. The view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca is inspiring. We spent hours just strolling around, drinking in the scenery and taking photographs. And the breakfasts? Magnifique! Fresh fruits, croissants, crab cakes, crepes Suzette and other French-style delights. My love and I so want to go back again!
