“Sure could use some attention”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

We stayed here for a couple of nights while sightseeing in Salt Lake City. Although the website said the property had been recently remodeled, I think it was referring to the lobby and not the guest rooms. The room we were given needed it. Dirty, a bit smelly, and dark.

Security -- 3 -- Just didn't feel good about the place.
Cleanliness -- 1 -- the carpet was so dirty that my socks turned gray after only a few steps. There was no faceplate on the phone when we checked in, and the phone itself was filthy. So was the hairdryer--all dusty and nasty. Mold in the bathroom.
Comfort--3-- nothing special.
Service--3--friendly, but not outstanding. They did give us easy to follow instructions to the bus stop so we didn't have to drive into Salt Lake.
Amenities --3 -- small fridge and microwave, but not overly clean.

After looking at some of the other reviews, I think we were lucky. No backed up drains, no confusion with rates or rooms. There are hundreds of other places to stay in Salt Lake; I won't be back to this one.

Convenient location, close to airport, despite nearby road construction. We booked this room for the pool for our family. Online pictures provided by other guests and staff alike showed a nice, bigger sized pool. So, we check in, which was uneventful. Staff were pleasant enough. The manager on duty went out of his way to be courteous to us. We booked based on the "special" internet rate. We unload our family luggage and all our belongings into the room. It was clean but in need of some major renovation. The bathroom had visible mold in and around the ceiling tiles. The carpet gave me the icky feeling to walk on it. Kids were in bathing suits a couple minutes after we got there, as were us adults. Then, we see the chain on the gate preventing entrance to the pool. When we called the front desk, we were told they were having "issues" with the pool and it would remain closed during our stay. Not much else to do. Air didn't keep room cool. Staff did not post non-working pool on website or let us know upon check in. Property needs renovation. Internet sale rate not honored.

It was clean and the pool looked really nice. The grounds were well kept. The laundry machines did not work. The first room did not have a fridge in it so they gave us a different room with a fridge. It would have been nice to have at least some hard-boiled eggs or cheese or something with protein in the Continental Breakfast as many hotels now have complete breakfasts. Everything in the rooms worked. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and clean.

I am very careful about giving negative reviews, but this place deserves it. We arrived about 2:00 PM. They said a room would be ready soon. I asked to look at a room like the one we would be getting (we asked for a room closer to the front of the hotel). The one they showed us was very nice - until I looked into the bathroom. The sewer had backed up into the bathtub. We left with the understanding they would have a CLEAN room for us by 5:00 PM. When we returned thery did not have a room ready and there was a traveler there who had taken a room and when he tried to move in he found mold in his room. We decided to try another place.

This seems to be a place that had been allowed to run down and was being refurbished by a new owner. They seemed to be cutting a lot of corners in their remodeling.

Room Tip: I would choose one in another hotel.

I know that this hotel is new to the Ramada family...but it really does need to be updated and cleaned up before it lives up to the Ramada standards. I waited almost 1hr and 45 minutes after check in time due to all the rooms still being dirty. When we finally got a room it was clean but very worn and outdated. When the manager happened to walk by we mentioned that our friends had just checked in and they had a microwave and fridge in there room. He said our section of the hotel didn't have those yet. Which is strange cause we paid the same price and booked the same day, but had less options. He did however show up 45 minutes later with a fridge and microwave. Later that evening after returning from dinner we noticed that the room was considerably warmer than earlier, the A/C was running full blast but no cold air was coming out. Around 11pm my wife had enough and went to the front desk to ask what could be done (it was too hot to sleep in). Another gentleman showed up with my wife and helped us move our belongings to a room that had A/C. Needless to say with a 15 month old child, moving our belonging that late was a irritation. The rest of the stay was okay....the pool didn't open until 10 am but was still chained up well after 10 on a couple of days. The breakfast service was adequate but nothing to write home about. Overall if it wasn't for the staff the whole trip would have be worse than it was!
