We came here while visiting family in the area. The day was sunny and in the 60's so it was a nice time to be outside but the gardens themselves this time of year are not yet worth the price of admission. I was disappointed to see many invasive species planted in the gardens. I also found the labeling of the plants to be incorrect or the label should be clearer. I would also have liked to see a garden of natural plants to Utah. We may come again later in the season.

Thank you so much for visiting Red Butte Garden while you were in Salt Lake City. We hope you will come back later this spring, summer or fall when there is more in bloom.

It is very possible that the "invasive species" of plants you are referring to are considered invasive in the Northeast, but aren't invasive in this part of the country because of our climate. Unfortunately, there are some invasive species that have made their way into the Garden and our horticulture staff does all they can to control them.

Our horticulture staff is incredibly accurate with the placement of labels and the information that is on them. If an error is noticed by a guest or a sign is misplaced, it is fixed as soon as it is noticed. Since it was early in the season during your visit, it could have looked like there were more labels than plants because most plants are still dormant. Because many plants here are planted close to each other, it could appear that one label is describing something else, but as the garden comes alive, the label will prove to be in front of the correct plant.

So please come back for a visit, and if you do notice something amiss or have questions, please bring it to the attention of our staff. We are always happy to talk to and learn from our guests.

This garden is a jewel. All the flora are native to Utah. It is expanding each year and very child friendly. Beautifully designed with programs year round. There is also an amphitheater that has live music performances with well known artists in the summer. You can walk it or take a tour on a cart driven by knowledgeable docents. Highly recommend.

We have visited Red Butte gardens on several occasions. Spring for the daffodils and other spring flowers, and then the summer and fall has magnificent plantings. Take the guided tour if you are there at the right time and be prepared to learn a lot about the flora of Salt Lake City and Utah.

The Garden is a friendly place to relax, walk, or have an event. The staff is amazing, the facility impeccable, and the sunsets can't be beat. Local caterers such as Cuisine Unlimited who are familiar with the venue help create not just great events, but unforgettable moments...
