Visited during the rehearsal. If you arrive after it begins, they will seat you in an enclosed room in the back, so get there early. Disappointed in seating, piped in sounds, but the rehearsal looked like it would be enjoyed in person inside the tabernacle. If you can slip through the back door of the room unnoticed it does lead to the main floor, One young man made that move while we were there. The choir rehearses Thursday night. Several from our group who were flying out Friday, planned to attend.

“Worthwhile”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

While on vacation in the area we planned to attend a Tabernacle Choir performance. That plan fell through and we found this to be a great alternative. The recital at noon was only thirty minutes long and gave us a good presentation of the iconic Mormon Tabernacle organ. The greeting at the door is warm and friendly. Definitely a worthwhile half hour.

“Relaxing on a rainy day”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

It was a spur of the moment decision to attend a recital. It was raining outside, we had been wandering about the area looking at the sites and thought, why not. We entered, were greeted warmly, sat and listened to the organist play.

We had our two boys with us, and even though this wasn't their thing, they enjoyed the music and sat quietly for the half hour performance.

“Unexpected pleasure”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

My husband and I were planning on spending about an hour walking around Temple Square. About 15 minutes into our stay we learned of a free organ recital starting in 5 minutes. We were told it would last 30 minutes and we could get up during pauses between songs. We thoroughly enjoyed the 30 minute recital and had no desire to leave early.

“Amazing organ recital”
Reviewed 17 April 2014

Clay Christiansen was amazing. Great organ recital. We were there on Tuesday April 8th, I cannot remember the title of the last piece he played but I think it was a Toccata, WOW!. What a performance. Even my teenage nieces and nephew were entertained.
