We stayed here in late June 2008. Our suite was pleasant, clean, quiet. Complimentary continental breakfast was OK (standard Marriott). Location is a bit south of the main business district, in a light industrial/commercial area. Only a few restaurants are within walking distance, but it's easy to get around town quickly by car.

This was a very nice, new hotel in great condition. The room was a bit on the small side for a suite, but was very clean and comfortable. The location was pretty convenient to get around the SLC area. The pool was relaxing, but small. The complimentary breakfast was pretty good. Staff was helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again, if back in the area.

We stayed at the Springhill Suites in downtown Salt Lake City for a quick pleasure trip with our kids. The property was updated, clean, and nice. The 2-bed suite (plus a pull-out bed couch) was perfect for our needs. The sheets were very luxurious! High thread-count sheets are absolutely required for an "excellent" rating, in my opinion.

There was a free complete, hot breakfast and the front desk was very accomodating about forgotten toothbrushes, etc. The pool was indoor, along with a whirlpool. It (the pool) was small, but I preferred it that way for my kids.

I will definitely stay there again.

  • Liked — Very nice room, fantastic sheets
  • Disliked — The internet was wired, wireless only available in lobby.

We stayed here from May 15-18, 2008

The hotel was very nice. I was pleased with the hotel and its location to downtown and the freeway. The hotel is very secure. You must use your room key to enter any door (other than the front door), regardless of the time of day.

The rooms were nice size. There was a nice sitting area. Though, it was hard to find space to open two suitcases in the room and still be able to move around.

The hotel appears to be newer. They had a nice patio outside the pool with an area to sit and relax. We happened to pick a bad weekend, because the hotel was full of teenage girls, so the pool was overflowing with people. (Not the hotel's fault.) They seemed to be enjoying it. :0)

The fitness room included one each: bike, treadmill and eliptical (which was making a really strange noise). The room was very small. The equipment fit in the room, but there was no where to do stretches or crunches.

The breakfast was also very nice. They had a nice selection: egg patties and sausage (so you could make a egg mcmuffin type sandwich or eat them plain). They had the make your own waffles with syrup and strawberry topping. They had the standard cold cereal, bagels, english muffins, danishes, muffins, milk, juice, coffee and yogurt. There was plenty of seating nearby.

Overall, the hotel was very nice. We enjoyed our stay there and would stay again.

  • Liked — Breakfast was a nice assortment
  • Disliked — Bathroom configuration was very bad

I checked in just tonight and already have bad vibes about this hotel. I am not unusually critical and generally find the positive. But this hotel is extremely noisy--the walls must be paper thin, and there is a rowdy group of young people here. I knew there was going to be a problem when the front desk clerk had people sign a form saying after 10 PM this is not a party hotel.

Even worse, I'm not sure that my room was clean. There were no toiletries in the bathroom, which I didn't notice until after I started to wash my hands (gross). Who knows if they bothered to clean the rest of the room? I'm not obsessed with cleanliness at all, but yuck.

One of the people at the front desk was really helpful, one was not. He could have at least apologized when I had to go get soap. And earlier, he just stood there while he could have been checking me in when the other desk person helped the people in front of me. Aggravating.

Unfortunately, I'm here for two nights, and I am staying for free, but I may need to invest in some ear plugs.

They did have a clean laundry and it seems to be a good location.

I have 3 children and finding a hotel to accomodate us is always challenging. My son usually ends up staying on the floor. I was excited when I found this hotel, because it had the fold out couch. That was really the only reason I picked it, but I am so glad I did. This hotel is very nice. We paid only $99 and I was impressed from the moment we walked in. The check in staff was very nice and helpful. The room was very clean and newly decorated. The only complaint I might have is that there was only one T.V. You could swivel it around to view it from all areas of the room though. There were 2 closets and a fridge and microwave. There was plenty of room for us all to sit at once. The pool was just the right size and open until 11:00 p.m. The breakfast was one of the best I've seen. I plan on staying here whenever we all travel to Salt Lake. Take my advice you will not be let down!!

Stayed at the SpringHill Suites Downtown while on business - to keep a long story relatively short, the hotel staff was excellent, the rooms were more than comfortable and spacious, the breakfast was delicious and had a great selection, and the hotel itself is located in a great spot convenient to pretty much anywhere in the area.

Our three night stay was extremely comfortable and I'd recommend this place to anyone visiting Salt Lake - less expensive but modern and cozy! Very clean - decent indoor pool and exercise room as well.
