I love visiting the national seashore so I have a yearly pass. I most enjoy the ability to drive on the beach and be distant from other beach goers. Sometimes there is a lot of seaweed but overall this is the best beach I've come across in Corpus Christi. There is a gift shop, outdoor showers, bathroom and a camp ground.

Over 70 miles of beaches on one of the most tranquil, unspoiled coasts in America.
It is exactly what you were expecting when Florida coastal development let you down.

We were in Corpus Christi we decided to take a trip to Padre Island for the day. What a wonderful beach, great sand and surf. Wonderful!

Miles of white sand. Totally awesome. Its the first time I could drive along the seas shore...on the sand. I loved Corpus Christie...a little place somewhere back in time. It reminded me of Southern Californai in the early 1960's.

Back in 2009 when we visited the island, this was the "go to" spot, it was clean and beautiful... this year it was really a debbie downer, had HUGE heaps of seaweed and smelled like sewage. Despite the foul odors, we still enjoyed this beach better than North Beach because of the finer sand. You have to purchase a 12$ parking pass to stick in your wind shield also.
