“Love the view”
Reviewed 28 December 2013

I liked the place where the statue was placed. We took a lot of pictures and they came out nice because there was not a lot of sunlight. We walked downstairs beside the monument to see the beautiful sea view. If you see Selena's statue, she is turning her head towards the sea because she grew up here walking around and enjoying the sea. After leaving the monument we drove 12 minutes to go see the museum.

“Tacky Mecca for Over-The-Top Selena Fans”
Reviewed 8 September 2013

Selena may of been a wonderful person and talented artist, yet it's sad to see the hagiography that's sprung up around her and her often annoying fans.
The statue is pretty tacky and looks cheap (but with a wonder bra) while being covered in seagull droppings. While you're there you'll typically be accompanied by trashy, over-the-top Selena fans who are crying, wailing and taking a million pictures as though they're visiting a holy relict or something.
If you're in Corpus, it's worthwhile going just to be amused by the people visiting it, but it's sad to see what's happened to her legacy.
