They said it was oceanfront but it is on the other side of the road from the ocean. I guess you see it with a good pair of binoculars. This is supposed to be an "elite" room, but there are no chairs on the balcony and the seal on the window in the master bedroom is broken so you can't see out. Just awful. At $300 a night I expect everything to be perfect and as described.

This hotel is actually across the street from the beach block and the Holiday Inn which is on the beach, but we did have a view of the ocean from our balcony. The hotel itself could be cleaner! The carpets needed a thorough vacuuming both in the halls and our room. They should really be replaced, as should the sofa in our King suite. It was worn and dirty looking, so we did not sit on it directly - put towels down where we sat! The coffee table was very old and chipped! The door to the balcony looked like it had been picked up at a yard sale - someone's old front door! And there was black mold in the corner of the shower.

All that said though, the place was ok - the front desk and other staff were always helpful and friendly, the hotel is across from the beach so must get lots of use and sand tracked in, etc, the breakfast was the usual cold cereal, fresh fruit, Light yoghurt, mini muffins, toast and dry cereal and "eggs". My favorite was the do-it-yourself waffles! That and fresh fruit was enough to keep me going to lunch.

The linens were crisp and clean and there were plenty of towels. However, I don't understand the small blanket - on the King bed it barely reached the two sides! And the pillows (5 of them) were hard and small and too high, but that is what I found in all the Comfort Inns.

There were plenty of wooden hangers and the TV worked fine. The safe never worked but then they did not charge for it either. The pool was rather dirty and sandy and uninviting.

On Saturday evening the music from the Holiday Inn was excruciatingly loud, but thankfully stopped after 9 pm.

All in all, we would stay here again because of the location and price.

Room Tip: The King suite facing the ocean, with a tiny balcony was great. Wish they had chairs and a table - it would be perfect!

The hotel is in a good safe location. Within walking distance of the beach. The hotel was clean, staff was nice, rooms were great. Hotel is getting tired but but only needs a simple redo. Would stay agian!

Friendly and accomodating staff along with a great location make this a property deserving of your stay! On a trip with my sisters and had a lovely time--close enough other places we wanted to visit. We visited North Padre Island and Mustang Island.

Room Tip: Higher floor facing the gulf

the people who work at this hotel are the best! There was a mix up with the type of room we had reserved (through the booking agency, not the hotel) but Shauna and Breezy went out of their way to upgrade our room, and made it a trip we will never forget. The staff was very welcoming especially Shauna, Breezy, and Jeff. Good location, close to the beach. Good breakfast, conveniently located to the beach, Padre Island National Park. Will definitely go there again.
