This hotel is dirty and worn out. The lobby does not appear to be welcoming and it will reflect what awaits you in your room. We had room 301. This room has a queen bed with a kitchen. The first thing you notice upon entering that the walls and upholstery are stained and soiled. Maintenance is required (paint, new mattresses, comforters with washable cover, fumigate, supervise cleaning staff, new chairs/drapes, steam clean carpet). It was hard to tell the condition of the carpet as it is dark color. We did not walk on bare feet though. The window lace had burnt hole on it – not sure how it happened as it is a non-smoking room. In the bathroom, there is no tub but a large shower. The mirror in the bathroom is smudged and edges not cleaned. The bottom of shower and soap holder had hair in them and we had to kill some bugs and silverfish in bathroom. There was no shampoo/conditioner provided. The ceiling fan has not been dusted as the blades had significant dust overhang on them. The bed spread seemed dirty so we removed it as soon as we arrived (owners should put in duvet and wash the cover with each new guest). The bed sheet had a hole on it, but seemed clean. The air condition/heating unit controlled by thermostat on the wall, but knob did not work on the actual unit by the window, so was stuck on high and it was very loud. The mattress is so soft that you sink – if that’s what you like go for it. The breakfast is decent - coffee, tea, juices, cereal, waffle, toast, Danishes, bagels, egg and sausage. The coffee though was awful. Our surprise on the last morning was two cockroaches on the wall. They were comfortably “grazing” around, not even afraid of us. Fortunately, we only stayed for a long weekend and we were checking out that day! Pro is that the beach is extremely close, just across the street and through the Holiday Inn parking lot. The Holiday Inn has an outside bar with live music that appears nice. If you want more comfort and cleanness, skip this hotel. Figuring the number of guests and the close proximity to the beach, the hotel is over-used without proper maintenance. In addition, this area has limited choices to eat out. Do yourself a favor and stay at a better hotel on the causeway where there are many food choices and it is a short drive to the beach. Another choice if you want to be on the beach is to check out the various condos that is available for rent. Good luck!
