I have been to this zoo many times. Its a great attraction for all ages. I personally prefer to go about 1 hour before closing time, because it's hot!! They do not kick you out, so you can walk around for a few hours without being in the scorching valley heat. The only downside is that by then the only concession stand open is right by the entrance, all the others will be closed. They have a cute butterfly exhibit, (which you have to pay), right next to a little play area for kids. The play area has water sprinklers, so kids will get slightly wet. They also just opened a new aquarium exhibit which is also very nice. If you want to avoid paying for parking, there is a school parking lot right across the street, which is free. This zoo is located across the street from a park, which also has a children's museum. So plan your day accordingly and enjoy several attractions at once.
