A pure pleasure! We loved the beautiful cabin, the lovely creek, the Pecos River. Far enough into nature to be truly relaxing, but an easy enough ride to town to get around. The cabin is well organized, thoughtfully decorated, and had everything we needed. I will miss the hammock. The creek and river were perfect entertainment for our teenager.
The cabin and the surrounding area were exactly as described. Despite a hiccup of no phone or internet the first evening (nicely handled by the caretaker) everything was well set up. The first night we had a sleet/snow shower that seemed almost perfectly timed to start after our arrival. The tub/hand shower were an experience that the boys seemed to really enjoy, and won't soon forget -lol
The sound of the river, sleet on a tin roof, a warm fire and a game of cards was our definition of a perfect "get away".
Our boys (15 year olds) loved playing in and around the river and after buying licenses online (the stores listed did not provide them this time of year) the boys loved lobbing lines in to fish. We scouted out trails, hunted treasured rocks, explored the ruins and found perfect walking sticks.
The cabin was certainly close enough for a nice trip into Santa Fe for some shopping, the sights (up to Los Alamos as well)and a great meal.
All in all a great time. Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with us.
Definitely would do this again.
The cabin and the grounds was absolutely terrific. Everything was great. A small hiccup with coffeemaker because the decanter did not push/contact the drip button. But otherwise everything was great. We will be back! Hope to make it an annual trip.
Wow! What a wonderful cabin and perfect riverside location. Go to sleep listening to the creek and river rushing while stargazing through the skylight above the bed. Tastefully and beautifully decorated with great art and treasures while not being cheesy or ‘theme’ centered. Just the right size and had everything you could need. Great location with access to trails But still not too far from Pecos. I would stay here again and recommend it with zero hesitation. The only downside was it was so hard to leave!!
We thought the area was beautiful, the cabin too was very nice. We were disappointed that the cabin was on the creek side, not the river side, we wanted to fish right off the cabin property but all in all everything was what we expected& Margo was very nice to deal with.
We enjoyed our short stay ate the Pecos River Cabin. It was nice to enjoy the cool weather and woods. Due to a knee and ankle injury we weren't able to hike or walk the banks of the river but enjoying the quite was fantastic. Being "chair" bound gave us the opportunity to watch many movies in the cabin. We hope to return soon.
We stayed for a week and it was wonderful! We caught lots of trout and did some beautiful hiking. The cabin is well stocked and comfortable. We saw wildlife in the yard in the evenings and hummingbirds are everywhere! A fire pit for the cool evenings and a full shower would have been nice but we had an amazing stay.
