I recently went to 3 different casinos in the Albuquerque NM area and this was by far the best of the 3. The other 2 were Hard Rock Casino and Sandia Resort and Casino. I can not say anything of the hotel part of all 3. Did not eat at Sandia. Hard Rock has a seafood buffett on Friday nights that cost $21.00 per person. The eating area was very small at Hard Rock. There was a long wait because of the lack of space because when there are crab legs, it will easily take about an hour per table. The only seafood on the buffett was crab legs, cold shrimp, clam chowder soup and one other cooked fish. The food was good, but very limited on items to choose from. We were kind of disappointed on the food. The casino was crowded and really just your typical casino. Nothing bad nor nothing good to speak of. Beautiful hotel and casino. The slots were not paying off on that Friday night of 10/12/2012. Route 66 Casino has a wonderfully laid out buffett. Food was excellent, service great and very reasonably priced at just under $12 per adult. The Casino was very nice inside with a large variety of slots that were paying very well. Someone always has to lose while a few win. Forget using your GPS to find this place, just go I-40 West to exit 140. It sits on side of expressway. When I get back to Albuquerque again, Route 66 will be my choice to visit.
