Sandia Peak Inn Motel

We were just in Albuquerque for one night and decided on Sandia Peak Inn due to their price and positive reviews. It was a good experience. As others mentioned, it is run by a very helpful and friendly lady and is kept clean. It's right on Route 66 in an area that I didn't find questionable at all. It is on the road so there was some road noise in the room but I slept well. The room had comfy beds, a big flat screen TV, a mini fridge, and a microwave. There were very few outlets, which made it more difficult to charge our electronics. One of the outlets didn't work. It is not fancy, but it met our needs perfectly.

It has a small indoor pool and a breakfast area with vending machines and complementary breakfast. The breakfast was not too fancy, and had cereal, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, pastries, toast, bagels, and waffles. I had a bagel with cream cheese and it was very fresh (unlike most places with breakfasts where they sit out).

There is obviously a lot of effort put into keeping this place nice, affordable, and convenient. We enjoyed our (albeit short) stay.

Obviously people who are actually in the U.S. have better luck with this place. I've sent four emails from Australia over the past six weeks to two different email addreses - the one here on Trip Advisor and the one on their website - to enquire about accommodation in April. To date, I haven't received a single response. It's bad enough that they don't have online reservation functionality in this day and age, not to mention having two different email addresses. But to not have received a single respond to any of my emails is just unacceptable. On that basis alone, I would never recommend this place, nor would I ever consider enquiring about staying with them again.

Stayed here one night on a recent trip. Spectacularly clean, nice, spacious, comfortable and inexpensive hotel on Route 66. The staff was very kind. Will be here on my best trip to Albuquerque. Thank you.

Very nice hotel for the price. Stayed 3 nights during recent weekend trip to Albuquerque. Linda, the manager, was very friendly & accomodating. She made us feel very welcome and quickly attended to every request. Our room was clean & spacious. Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast everyday. Some street noise from Central Ave, but location is convenient to Old Town attractions & downtown. Would highly reccomend to anyone visiting town & on a budget.

We had stayed here 3 years ago while visiting in Albuquerque, and decided to try it again. We stayed for 2 nights and were very pleased. The price was great, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was good (the hard boiled eggs were really cooked on premises). I was sorry that Kay was out of town, but Linda was doing a great job filling in for her. Even though we could get a motel much closer to my brother's house, we were glad we stayed at Sandia Peak agian.

It was only because of the great reviews on Trip Advisor that we gave Sandia Peak Inn a try and we were not disappointed. It is an older place but very clean and spacious. Linda is such a positive and pleasant person that you feel like she is a friend right off the bat. They are lucky to have her! The breakfast was much better than the normal continental types and the breakfast room was large and nice and bright.
Right across the street is a GREAT Mexican restaurant that Linda recommended. We had a very pleasant experience at the Sandia Peak and hope to stay again when we pass thru. Thanks Linda!

Room Tip: We stayed on the ground floor and it was quiet.

Very good motel considering the price. I have stayed there twice and each of the two rooms were immaculate. The outside is not very impressive, but the inside of the rooms were nice and the continental breakfast had many offerings including hot waffles. I didn't know whether to give it an excellent or very good rating. I gave it an excellent rating because of the price.
