“Uncomfortable beds, cheap food, controlling landlord, ”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014 via mobile

This stay was just ok. Grounds are very nice and clean and manicured. Other than that, just a typical independent motel trying to make it on reputation. Close to many activities so has that edge on competition. That also means rundown "USAland" neighborhood. They do have a wrought iron safety fence with gates which were not closed. Breakfast had nice strawberries but all 3 other fruits were sadly past their prime. Mealy and mushy. We had been on the road relocating for a job 2000 miles away so we may be a bit more critical having lots of comparative material. All breakfast items just a bit off - look comparable but cheaper quality version. And yes, one landlord will cook your waffle for you, but that is just because she is controlling and in your business and wants to do it herself. Waffle is raw in middle and with cheap tasteless batter. Then what does one say? "This is nasty, can you make me another?" Stay here only if you do not value your privacy, do not need a comfortable bed after a long days drive with more to come, and a satisfying breakfast with quality food. I am very disappointed in this TA high quality rated hotel. Oh yes! Do not accept a room that is not already cooled down with AC. You will swelter for hours trying to cool it.

The workers were great and the room was clean but did NOT have and interior door lock which made me very uncomfortable. The breakfast was ok and our stay was good for the price. The swiming pool was more of a kids pool it was so small and it looked like it had alge in it. We did not go in.

We arrived late for this stay. The lady was really nice and got us into a bigger room upon request. They had no other rooms either and had given away ours even though we had a secure reservation. When we opened the door it was like a brick oven in the room. A/C had not been turned on in several days and it barely put out cold air. So the sheets are hot the bathroom is hot and the only light working in the bathroom is the heat lamp light. The shower head was a fine mist and there was not enough towels. So we had no choice but to stick it out due to the last arrival and long drive ahead. I would not recommend this rat hole. It came highly rated and is stuck in the middle of getto land USA

Our hire car had the oil change light come on and we had about 1000 miles to go, so we turned up at the hotel early to get rid of the luggage before having the car seen to. We were able to check in but were charged extra for it unfortunately. Nice room but on a very busy road. The pool looked extremely tired and we did not fancy it at all. Room in need of some good soundproofing. We were doing route 66 and this was the only hotel so far where you could hear the people talking in the next room,.The person above us stomped around from 4am and the aircon was quite noisy. No safety box. The breakfast was good. Eggs, fruit, toast and yogurt.

Thanks to other Tripadvisors, we chose this motel and were not disappointed. It's a great value. The rooms are spotless and the beds very comfortable. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet included in the room price; in addition to the make your own waffles, cereal, yoghurt, etc., they supplied a tasty fresh fruit plate. We'd stay here again!

I I arrived at midnight due to some car trouble. K was at the front desk ready to help. I found the rooms to be very comfortable and clean. The next morning K was in the kitchen and offered to make me a waffle and we chated about San Francisco. She is very pleasant and I would stay here again and again.

We stayed one night and very clean room with comfortable beds. Nice breakfast in the morning also! Close to old Town and other attractions.
Kay was a gracious host and very nice with a warming smile.

Why stay at a chain hotel when you can enjoy a piece of Albuquerque on Route 66!
