I have stayed at the HardRock/Isleta Resort under old or new management and have had a wonderful time in the Spa and Casino and the food was great and the shuttle bus was very accommodating to airport etc. The front desk and all other customer service was great while i was there for business and pleasure.

Room Tip: The 3rd or 4th floor for quicker access to spa and outdoor activities. In addition, it depends if y...

Stayed here for the 3rd time in about 5 years. 1st time they were switching to hard rock. Even under management and construction changes. Much! Much! Better stays before!
1st sold my room before I showed ( suite $206 1queen, double roll out sofa, we are 2 adults, 2 kids 16,12 yo) gave me room on 2nd fl ( 1 king, delivered roll out single bed ).
2nd. Very Rude Service Everywhere!! At front desk treated 2nd class, at bar in casino ignored and watched a 2 bored bartenders flip glasses while not being served or even asked for service!
3 after gambling, bowling, and spending a great deal of money. Back in room tiny ro bed too small, so req another, long wait, unavailable, called complained sweet girl " rose" lowered rate to $129 then we cancelled tomorrows stay. Praying to find a better stay in ABQ.

Isleta is a d***ed decent hotel. Better than many in the area. But is it a boutique hotel? Nope. Not by a long shot. But, as casino/hotel/resort combos go in New Mexico, Isleta is pretty nice. you'll get a spacious, impeccably clean room for a price that's average to a wee bit high for the area. Overall, it was a decent hotel experience... but here's the run down...

1. The room was big. Really big. Lots of room to move around, but minimal storage and seating. So not a lot of places to sit if you want to hang out in your room if you want to sit and not lay on the bed.

2. Room lighting kinda sucked. There were small lamps by the bed and a single floor lamp and a single desk lamp... but none of them were particularly bright... made reading in bed difficult and working by the light of the desk lamp is impossible. They could do better.

3. On the plus side, the tub was HUGE and built for soaking. Hot water arrived instantaneously - no waiting forever for it to warm up.

4. Also a plus, we forgot to refill our toiletry bag, so we used the soap provided by the hotel. It was gentle on sensitive skin.

5. The ice machine was a hike for most of the rooms on our floor. In fact, there were three different families hunting for the ice machine and vending (a single soda machine) at the same time. We found it and waved everyone down to join us. They could do better.

6. The room was really, really clean. Really clean. Supposedly, it was a smoking room (we don't smoke) but you couldn't tell it when you walked into the room. It didn't smell like a smoking room. This was a huge plus for us since we took the last available room we could get. The HVAC kept it pretty cold, too. Again a HUGE plus.

7. Dining at the casino is kind of a mixed bag. If you're gambling, the snack bar and Ristra restaurants are a really decent value and the food is surprisingly good. Tiwa is decent enough... but service is hit-and-miss. For the price, it should be a hit every time. We had much better luck at the Bowtie Bistro buffet: the servers were unfailing pleasant, kept our drinks full and offered excellent suggestions. We weren't able to get a seat in the steakhouse within a timeframe that fit with our schedule... so I couldn't tell you about it. In addition, the restaurant schedules make it a little bit of a challenge to try and figure out if you're going to be able to eat at the hotel at all -- dining isn't 24/7. So you have to a little work to make sure you don't miss a window to get a meal.

Overall, we'd stay there again... Isleta is a very nice hotel... but yeah, they could do better.

I stayed here for business for two nights in July 2014. The hotel and casino used to be a Hard Rock but it has now reverted back to Isleta. The overall stay wasnt bad and the hotel and room facilities were ok but there were little bits here and there that could used improving. Perhaps it was because I stayed right after a large tattoo festival but the entire facility smelled like smoke. Even the hallways and rooms seemed to be saturated by it. My tub was clogged so the first morning I took a shower in a few inches of water that would not drain. I was coughing a lot and thought it might have been from lingering smoke but I noticed a lot if lint and other particles accumulated on my computer screen after just an hour. I am thinking the air system was overloaded from the weekend. The front desk was responsive to the tub issue, the restaurants and service was very good.

The rooms do have an outdated feel as other reviewers have mentioned, but I think its more that they are getting a bit run down. It isnt shoddy just looked used. If some proper attention was given to fixing up the place and installing air filters it could be the facility to go to for meetings and leisure however it does have a way to go until it could beat Sandia Casino.

Pros: close to Albuquerque but not in the city so there is a sense of being away but close enough to hit the town if needed. Plenty of parking. Bathrooms are nice. Free wireless. Food and service was very good. Great rates.

Cons: Only one elevator working when I was there. No easy access for stairs so even if you are on the second floor you have to use the elevator. Needless to say the line for the elevators was long. Front desk check in was spotty. Only one desk person was on duty most of the time and lines would form quickly. Rooms look worn and the walls are thin. I could hear the person in the room next to mine cough and flush the commode at all hours.

Room Tip: Ask for a west facing room.

I don't really have anything that negative to say about the place. The housekeepers certainly do not deep clean the room when staying night to night. The furniture is outdated but is good for what you need. There isn't a desk area if you are planning on working in the room and there is no fridge.

The food at Chile Ristra was very good especially for the price. The people here are very friendly and that goes for the entire casino. It is what you make of it.

There is a smoke smell but nothing like in the older hotels of Vegas. I never smelled it in the room and we were on the 5th floor.

Room Tip: I would say the higher you can get the better. We were not bothered at all by the noise, being a ca...

We stayed here one night and attended a concert on property. Our room on the sixth floor was quite nice and clean, with tasteful decor. While other travelers have complained about noise and cigarette smoke, we did not experience this at all. The room had a safe and coffee maker, but no refrigerator.

The concert venue was nice, Each seat had a decent view and it was small enough that there were no bad seats. As for the casino, I am not much of an authority on that topic, so I have no comment. Overall we had a pleasant stay and would return if we wanted to attend another concert.

Why not five stars? Two things: We arrived well before check-in time and I stopped by the front desk just in case the room was ready early. The woman at the desk was not exactly friendly as she lectured me on the appropriate check-in time. Jeesh! I was just asking. . . And a heads-up to those who always carry firearms for personal protection, this property does not allow firearms anywhere, not even locked in your room safe. This means you have to lock them in your car, which technically isn't allowed, either, if you are in their parking lot. I find this a bit unreasonable, especially in New Mexico.

Room Tip: Get a room on one of the highest floors to avoid the smell of smoke.

Had a adult night out with my wife. We picked Isleta and loved it. The room was huge with a great bathroom and soaking tub. We stayed on a Friday night and it was about 200 cheaper than Sandia. I also liked the gaming floor. The bar was central and you didnt have to wait in line to get in. A few steps from the tables to the bar, quick bar service and quick back to the tables.

Room Tip: Upgrade to the bigger room
