“Amazing Dinosaur and Fossil Exhibits!”
Reviewed 1 December 2013

Being from the Midwest, I don't get much of an opportunity to see many dinosaur and fossil exhibits. I was amazed at all of the exhibits this museum had to offer. So interesting to read about how these bones and fossils were found, who found them and how they fit in to our earth's evolution. While standing in front of an exhibit, I began chatting with a museum volunteer. By the end of my visit, he had accompanied me throughout most of the museum, sharing some fascinating stories. It was a great learning experience and I truly enjoyed it. The museum also has exhibits on space science and computer technology. They also have a planetarium, DynaMax theater, gift shop, and snack bar.

“Dinosaurs Galore!”
Reviewed 30 November 2013

This is a hometown museum for us, but we always forget how wonderful and exciting it is, until we revisit it. It's great for kids - with lots of interactive displays and teachable moments - but educational and fascinating for adults as well. Brightly lit and welcoming. There is so much paleontology connected to New Mexico and the greater Albuquerque area, that the museum can make informative displays by just focusing on that. Huge dioramas and reconstructions of dinosaurs and prehistoric wildlife abound. Other attractions in the building are the Dynamax 3-D theater with 3-5 showings daily of two different natural history movies, the Planetarium, the special exhibit (permanent?) of Albuquerque's ties to Bill Gates and the computer revolution, the Cafe with scrumptious goodies, and the Museum Shop. Don't miss this one when you're in town - and if you want to make a day of it, see the Albuquerque Museum of History and Art across the street, or the Explora Science Museum (another great kid place!) next door.

“ALL AGES WILL LOVE THIS”

Dinosaurs, Imax movies, ever-changing exhibits -- what's not to like? Plus a year-long schedule of talks by prominent scientists on caves, Mars, volcanoes, ancient life-forms, etc. etc. Go and learn something.

“A Great Multi-Purpose Attraction”
Reviewed 10 November 2013

You can spend a couple of days in the NM Museum of Natural History and Science and not exhaust all its possibilities. In addition to displays spanning time from dinosaur paleontology to up-to-the-minute space science and computer technology there is both a planetarium and a DynaMax theater. And, in relation to other similar facilities in other large cities, it's both family-friendly and bargain-priced. This is definitely a major stop on any tour of New Mexico.

“Great for adults and kids”
Reviewed 10 November 2013

What a well thought out museum. The $7.00 admission is well worth it. The theme rooms exit out and flow into the next and the next and before you know it, you are on the second floor via display floors gradually rising via ramps.
Lots of dinosaur bones, skeletons, fossils. Rooms for animals of New Mexico, historic aquatic life, volcanoes, rock & gem formations, astrological displays and more. They have interactive displays to keep the kids interested also. Really nice museum.
I happened to look on their events page and they were giving a gem/stone wire wrapping class to make jewelry! Wow! Only $35. including all material. There was a 1/2 hour lecture about how the different rocks and gems are made and excavated. Very interesting. Then a class teaching us how to make a pendant, bracelet, and earrings. The teacher, Camille, from Creative Wire was very generous with her supplies and attention. A really great class. Check out her website if you're in the area. She will hold classes for a group or individuals.
