Only a car enthusiast visitor would have ever gotten me here. He loved the displays & racing cars. I liked the historical exhibits and vintage cars.

If you love history and racing then you have to be here. Excellent displays that you can get close to and written history and photos on the walls that are priceless. The real stars are the cars (a Novi and the Johnny Lightning) but all this is well supported by some docents who really love their jobs. Be sure to ask if you can see the museum annex. This is a personal collection of Unser trophies and vintage cars.

Very few museums will please everyone and that holds true for the Unser Racing Museum. If you are a fan of auto racing then I encourage you to see this museum. Displays are well set up and highlight the racing careers of Al Sr, Al Jr and Bobby, all of whom are Albuquerque natives. Don't miss out on the auto, motorcycle and snowmobile displays in the nearby Challenger Learning Center building.

My friends, I'm a "lifelong race fan". Even at my late sixtiesI attend at least three major U.S. races a year. I have attended Sebring since 1963 and have been an active racer. This museum is a "jewell". You are exposed to an unusual sampling of Pike's Peak, Indy and several other racing cars.
During my visit I had the "wonderful experience" of meeting Mr. Al Unser Sr. which made a "dream visit" even more worthy.
The sampling of cars at this museum is really unique. You are able to re-live the actual history of these fine specimens.
Please check schedules so you are able to make the most out of your visit.
Truly outstading,

If you grew up watching the Indy 500 like a religious event, like we did this is a must visit. It's got a lot of old cars and a lot of great history about the Unser family themselves. The fact that they live here and could just happen to be at the museum makes it even better.
