“Great views and nice trails”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 November 2013

Beautiful place to take a quick hike while in Albuquerque. You can get some great sunset photos, too, almost any day of the year. The park maintains clean covered picnic areas and well labeled trails. I kick myself for NOT going to this park on every ABQ visit.

“Beautiful park”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 October 2013

This is a great park for hiking, biking, a view of the Sandias and Albuquerque.
Picnic shelters and an occasional wedding. Park rangers on site are very knowledgable and they have programs throughout the summer months.

“Always a stop for us in Albuquerque”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 September 2013

We visit friends in Albuquerque almost annually and this is one of our stops with the kids. The park is loaded with geocaches and the kids love to hunt them. It's fun for everyone and we get a nice walk in the desert. Plenty of trails to wander but there is almost no shade anywhere so take sunscreen, a hat and water. There is a small fee for parking. Stay vigilant for bicycles coming from behind you.

“Hiking & biking for all levels”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 August 2013

There is a small parking fee for the park, $2-3, but really nice hiking for all levels and there are picnic areas available with bathrooms nearby. The trails are mountain bike friendly as well for strong beginners or intermediate bikers.

“hidden gem in the foothills”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2013

A great place to experience the Sandia mountains. Trail access, picnic areas, water, pit toilets and miles, and miles, and miles of wonderful trails. Cost is very cheap $1-2$ per vehicle, foot and bike traffic is free. Excellent place to watch the sunset and see the city lights too! But, to see the city lights you will have to hike in as the gate closes at dusk.
