“Great Hotel, Great Price, Great Accomodations”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 January 2009

We needed a place with kitchen accomodations and this hotel had the price we were looking for. The room was perfect for our needs! Our room was comfortable, clean, and had enough room to accomodate the three of us. This hotel not only serves a hot breakfast, but Mon - Thurs they also serve a hot dinner all included in the price. The dinner wasn't bad either! They served lasagna on one night, chicken alfredo on the next, chile dogs the night after. Very good, nothing real fancy, and they even had a small salad bar each night. The staff is extremly accomodating, friendly, and prompt with requests. They have a nice exercise room, small pool, and hot tub. For 80 bucks a night it can't be beat. The hotel is five years old and we would stay there again!

  • Liked — Clean, roomy, friendly staff, breakfast and dinner included
  • Disliked — Only smoking room with two double beds is a handicaped room.

Booked in early June as our stay was during Balloon Fiesta in October when almost all rooms in ABQ are taken. To call the room a "suite" is quite a stretch. I expect a suite to be a living area/bedroom area. This was just a regular hotel room cut up with a tiny kitchen area/tiny table for your laptop, etc. I guess the sofa was a hide-a-bed, but we did not need it. Sofa, chair, other furniture were somewhat shabby. We could only book a smoking room because of Balloon Fiesta and when we arrived, the room reeked of some deodorizer spray with underlying smoke. After leaving the windows open the room was almost livable, but they need to clean furniture/carpets in smoking rooms. We do not smoke in the room but this was the only one available. Lesson learned for us!

Breakfast was passable, with some sort of microwaved scrambled eggs, fruit, bagels, muffins, juice, sausage, biscuits/gravy, toast, and something New Mexican with tortillas. I liked the flavored creamers available for coffee and took some back to the room to stash in the refrigerator. After three days the breakfast buffet was boring but free. We did not eat at the manager's reception Monday through Thursday.

The pool and hot tub are quite small, along with the exercise room. Management was nice. There is no longer transportation to the bus to Balloon Fiesta.

Although I was charged $159/night for four of our five nights, the back of our door stated "maximum $149 per night." Upon contacting the front desk they agreed to lower the room rate although they explained it was because of Balloon Fiesta.

Probably would not stay at this hotel again, expected a LOT MORE from a Hilton suite hotel.

We have stayed at many Homewood Suites and are always very happy. For that reason I booked our stay sight unseen. When we arrived I was shocked to see that this hotel was a dump. I can't believe that this was ever originally a Homewood Suite hotel. They had dirty mop buckets in the hallway upon arrival at check-in time. Since I had made the reservation the day of arrival I knew we would not be refunded, and we had not even seen our room yet. When we did ,we were was disgusted. First they are not suites. Just a long room with a kitchen area between bedroom and living area with an airconditioner as loud as a jet plane. But mostly it was just filthy. We didn't want to remove our shoes or sleep on the bed. The carpets were filthy and the bathroom tub had a hole in the bottom. The comforter looked filthy and we didn't want to touch it. We just miserably waited until the sun rose so that we could get out of there. We did however eat at the breakfast bar before we left where my husband found a hair in his bisquits and gravy.

Stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions this month. Its kind of standard amenities that you can expect from this class of hotel. Nothing very good or bad to say about this hotel. Close to the Sandia Peak Tramway and El Pinto restaurants, but then Albuquerque isn't too big anyways.

Only quirks we encountered was that on the second trip we had reserved for a two bed suite, instead was given a single king-size bed suite. As it was only one night we managed with the pull-out sofa sleeper.

Also, the carpets could use a shampoo sometime soon rather than later!

This is a very nice hotel and the staff are very friendly! Breakfast was very good as was the light dinner they serve each evening as the Manager's Reception. Rooms are very clean and hotle is easly reach off I25 Exit 231. There are excellent choices for food within 1-2 miles of hotel on South Frontage Road.

Friendly hotel staff at a nice property convenient to the interstate 25 and airport. Breakfast featured a number of choices including breakfast burrito, biscuits/gravy, and the usual bagels, cereals, etc.

Only drawback was the small suite size. It was not nearly the size of other rooms I have had at similar chains.
