“Stayed during Balloon Fiesta”
Reviewed 11 October 2006

Good location for Balloon Fiesta. Close to park n ride & many restaurants. Upon check in, we were told that type room we requested was not available. But, staff worked to find just what we needed. Very clean, nice pool, fitness center. We would stay here again.

My BF and I visited this hotel for a few days in September. We were very happy with the nicely decorated room, the breakfast buffet (costs $7.95 each), and the staff was very accommodating. I would definitely stay here again. It is close to ABQ and the Balloon Fiesta Park. We had a refrigerator in the room so we could keep items cold too which helped with bottled water. Don't hesitate to stay here...it's great!

  • Liked — Breakfast Buffet
  • Disliked — Not enough time to spend here.
  • Tips/Secrets — Relax and enjoy yourself...this hotel is excellent in my opinion.

Stayed here on a friend's recommendation (he's partial to the Hilton Brand) and still cannot understand why it costs so much for a room which is much more inferior than any room by Comfort Inn and its class! I thought since it's a Hilton hotel, and I'm paying slightly higher price than a budget hotel, there'd be more attractive facilities. Boy was I so wronged!

First of all the rooms are tiny (in comparison to hotels/motels several rungs below its class, e.g. La Quinta, Red Roof Inn, and the like). I'd a non-smoking King *Suite* which they claimed is 'handicap friendly'. Sure there are handrails in the toilet but why is the bath towel rack so high up the wall? I'm not a handicap but I'd think independant wheelchair-bound handicaps will find that the handrails are just decor, and staying here is the pits too.

Next the walls are THIN, you can hear your nextdoor neighbors very loud and clear. I got woken up twice at 5:00AM and 6:30AM from guests walking and talking along the corridor outside to and from the lift lobby some distance away.

Thirdly there is no wireless internet. Most of the budget motels already have high-speed wireless internet facility. Here in Hilton Gdn Inn & Suites it's so backward all you get is crappy LAN internet (wired) and one point of access per room only. It's also very slow, and we lost connection many times in a single day.

Fourthly there is no free breakfast! What could be worse than this hotel with a boutique name?? No fridge, no microwave, in the room, all no use! I will definitely not return nor stay in a Hilton establishment ever again! (The ones in my country are just about average, nothing spectacular for the price offered). You're probably just helping to fund Paris Hilton's extravagant swinging lifestyle!

I'm a big Hilton Garden Inn fan. Clean, quiet, comfortable rooms. Great location. Even a restricted view of the Sandia peak. Somewhat tight exiting from NB I-25. But worth it. Glad we selected this one.

This is a great hotel. I booked a standard king room, and was surprised to find that it was more like a mini suite. I had 2 large TV's, one in a living area (the room was divided, but not by a door). The loveseat had a hide-a-bed. The room looked brand new, and had excellent central air conditioning. The staff was very friendly. There was a wonderful full breakfast, but it was not complimentary (it was about $9). I highly recommend this hotel!
