Description: For a taste of grandma's cooking and a bit of homemade comfort, come to Little Anita's, which has been serving authentic New Mexican food for over 40 years. Named after the founder's mother, and based on family recipes handed down for generations, Little Anita's is an Albuquerque institution. Our iconic flagship restaurant, in the heart of Old Town, is beloved by locals and a must-visit for any tourist. You haven't been to Albuquerque if you haven't eaten at Little Anita's. Our menu hasn't changed much in the last four decades, and we're proud of it. In a fast-moving world, our restaurants are an oasis of tradition and sentimental cooking. When it comes to our signature dishes, we like to keep things simple. We believe in the purity of our ingredients and keep a clean flavor profile. You won't find your food overloaded with seasoning and your taste buds won't be overwhelmed with spiciness. Our chile tastes like chile. You know a Mexican restaurant by its chips and salsa. Have a seat, take a few bites and find out why so many regulars say, "you had me at chips and salsa." Yes, it's that good.

“It was okay.”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

We stopped in here for lunch at the start of a trip through the southwest. It looked to have good reviews but our experience was that it was just okay. It wasn't bad but it was plain and simple when I expected a delicious southwest meal. The best part of the meal were the sopaipillas at the end of the meal, pour some honey on and they were delightful. There have to be better Mexican options in Albuquerque.

We drove from there to Gallup for the night. We ended up eating at the Matate Tamale Factory which was the best Mexican meal of the whole week. If you are heading to toward Gallup leave some room in your stomach for some real Mexican food.

“Great comfort food at good prices”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

Little Anita's serves up classic New Mexican comfort food at affordable prices. It is a short walk from Old Town and has enough tables to serve a lot of people quickly. Requests for different sauces to suite your preferences is not a problem either.

“Good and hot”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

Portions seem to have shrunk but the food was still great. Take out speed was average. The green chili is still the best in the city

“Not impressed”
Reviewed 15 June 2014 via mobile

We ate dinner here and the place was fairly empty. We paid $50 for two adults & two kids. The food is "New Mexican" food, nothing like Authentic Mexican food or Tex Mex. My husband requested flour instead of corn tortillas, extra charge. We ordered flour tortillas for the kids, we received 2 for $1.00. We wouldn't return.

“The Best!!!”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

Old Town location (2105 Mountain Rd NW) is the best Mexican food in the area, maybe in the entire Little Anita's group. Great prices. Great breakfast too. Lillian, as well as the rest of staff are wonderful, great food, great location, really close to Interstate 40. The best Sopapillas I've ever eaten!!
