“Unexpected stay here was great”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

Because our plane was grounded and we had two unexpected days to stay in Albuquereque, we wanted a hotel venue a little nicer atmosphere than an airport hotel. The resort shuttle picked us up promptly, and we checked into this beautiful resort at the foot of the Sandia Mountains. We aren't golfers, but other guests told us the course was awesome. The mountain view was beautiful. The outdoor pool was GREAT!!!!! The food in both restaurants we tried was excellent, and very reasonable. Food service was a little slow for our liking, but then, we are used to a fast-paced culture and the feeling here is really laid back. We slowed down and enjoyed it.

Room Tip: Our non-smoking room was big and wonderful.

Room and service was excellent. I enjoyed the buffet. The tub was a really nice tub, but was narrow. I was on the seventh floor and had some trouble figuring out how to turn on the air but was finally able to figure out.

I stop by this casino every time I fly into Albuquerque and drive to Santa Fe. It is very nice - super clean, nice non-smoking areas and a beautiful view of the Sandia mountains from the back of the casino. Every time I have visited there have been LOTS of slots available, a ton of penny slots and a few of my favorites, like DaVinci Diamonds.

Room Tip: Sorry, I just gambled! I did not stay.

Standard room is better than most, spacious and updated. The parking garage is currently undergoing construction, but you won't notice it on the hotel side of the resort. Quiet, well maintained grounds-agree with the reviews here that it is a relaxing place to just hang out. Check in was pleasant, although the lobby is laid out like a hallway with the elevators at the end around a corner. You get a view of the pool area as you go to the elevators and the walk gives you the opportunity to peruse the artwork. Good blend of eating options and prices on the grounds and the casino noise doesn't travel far. Stayed the weekend on a deal through Harrahs, so would definitely stay again at a discount but don't think we'd pay the $299 rack rate for the standard king room.

If you're in need of a day spa experience (whether you're a local or a visitor), Sandia Resort's Green Reed Spa is simply the best. It's my yearly birthday treat: a relaxing hour or so enjoying the spa's water features (steam room and hot & cold plunge pools), then an hour massage (book Carla Jo if you can), then outdoors and poolside for the rest of the day. Aaaaahhhhh!

The service is superb, the ambiance is relaxing and peaceful, and the facility itself is clean, quiet, and extraordinarily comfortable with all the amenities we ladies need. There's even a separate area for the guys and couples massages are also available. Something for everyone needing a bit of spoiling!

We like this place so much we usually spend at least one weekend a month here. Love the rooms. Suites are huge .Loads of room and seating areas. Bathrooms are roomy, suites have a half bath. Regional furniture, art work, and bold color scheme make it a relaxing place just to hang out. Always very clean. Prefer to stay on the mountain side in the summer sometimes in a suite with a balcony, and city side in the winter. Architecture is beautiful. There is a restaurant for every taste and price level. Staff is pleasant and helpful, but sometimes a little slow to fulfill a request.

Room Tip: Mountain side view in the summer. Some suites have open balconies - amazing to sit and watch a sunse...

Excellent staff! Courteous and helpful - all the way through the hotel and restaurants. I won't rate the casino or its staff. Inside, it is an architectural delight. The elevators are dreamy. The rooms are large enough and tastefully appointed. The Keurig one cup coffee maker is efficient - but alas, there is never enough coffee. Maids will supply you extra on request. Two knocks on the room, and ladies, you'll want to pay heed. Seems the lighting in the bathrooms in hotels is never, ever sufficient for applying makeup. This hotel is no exception. The lighting is dim and no where near sufficient for makeup purposes. The bathrooms must have been designed by men. How difficult can it be to install and adequate light bar? That was rhetorical. The other knock is that the you can hear too much of what is said and other noises coming from your neighbors' bathroom. We had good eats at Ben Shur and the Council Room. The grounds are to die for, and quite impressive. Easy access to I-25 from the resort. The best employee we encountered was Wesley, of the bell staff. Helpful from the get-go. A shout out to Wesley!
