First let me say that I like this hotel and casino, but I do think that they have too many rules. The rooms are very comfortable and roomy, and the bathroom is roomy too with a tub and separate shower. Buffet is always crowded but I don't think its that good, but they offer a lot of specials for seniors so that brings in the business. If you go to the spa on senior day (Wednesday) you get 30% off...that's a huge discount. What I don't like is that they want you to sign a waiver stating you won't bring any liquor into the hotel for your room. They want you to pay outrageous prices and get it from them. There is only one place you can drink and that is in the bar at the back of the casino. You can't even buy a drink there and take it to the casino with you. Even though I don't play golf, they have a beautiful course. The views of the mountains from your room is also beautiful. The steakhouse at the top of the hotel is OK...great service but nothing spectacular for the food. I've eaten better places and I've eaten worse places. The Council room (their coffee shop) is good but not a huge selection. If you hit a substantial amount (on slot machines) while playing a bonus round it doesn't add your win onto your machines' credits, but instead you have to wait for someone to come over and hand pay you that amount. That's a waste of time.

The bathrooms are spacious, seperate shower and bath, toilet not right next to them. The rooms are good size. Their internet connection is sometimes very slow. Room service and housekeeping can sometimes be a problem.

Bien Shur stake and lobster was not as good as I thought it would be. The dinner plus glass of wine cost me about a $100. The taste of the lobster wasn't good, I couldn't figure out what it was but it did have a slimey back. The wine suggestion was good.

Several places to eat, but you should know operating hours and do not wait till the last minute. They won't make any exceptions. Whole and slice pizzas at the Kowira grill and slice pizza at the buffet.

I never have been to the pool. I used the spa. There are some problems here. The staff is good, but don't enforce the pool use rules. There is loud talking, phone use, people not showering before jumping into the hot/cold tub. They are building another spa at the golf clubhouse.

I have heard people complain of unfriendly or ruff security guards. Sometimes I noticed some of the guards will get over zealous and come across as unfriendly.

The slots are like most places. They have an enclosed, large, non-smoking slot room. Cigarette price per pack is high, Get them at the travel center across the road before getting to the casino. They cost less there.

There is underground parking but limited. They are building an additional covered parking structure. There is a large outdoor parking place for RVs as well as for cars and trucks. Covered valet parking, I have never used it.

There is an outdoor concert amphitheater. It is nice.

Room Tip: There are two sides of the hotel building. The east side you can see the Sandia and part of the Monz...

Courteous and friendly staff. Doesn't make any difference if the rooms are complimentary or you have paid for them. The staff is great. Rooms are beautiful, clean and food at hotel restaurants are wonderful. The view of the mountains is breathtaking. Love this place.

Great golf course....easy on and off the freeway if you are visiting Santa Fe...if you plan to use spa or hair salon book ahead..Friday night buffet is great but long line..rooms are lovely...hosts in casino couldn't be nicer but if you aren't a regular customer meaning at least monthly don't expect anything more than a free one night stay...you will get a room but you will pay after that one night...and no free food...even if you are a decent player...The valet is great and well informed for any side trips, shopping or special events...check this resort for balloon festival..great location and parking for RVs...fast food restaurant in rear corner is excellent and cheap...lots of green chili on anything! Great selection of slot machines

Room Tip: Book rooms with balcony facing mountains...some rooms have no view and even a wall so booking is imp...

My husband and I reserved a deluxe king room but when we checked in we were given a king suite as a free upgrade without requesting. Beautiful and spacious room with 2 bathrooms. The shower was so nice and the bed so comfortable. Nice view of the mountains and the pool. Room number was 717. Will definitely come and stay here again soon.

Arriving at the Resort - Sandia Resort and Casino is like stepping into a little bit of paradise. This is not your run of the mill resorts or casino, but first class all the way. I have said time and time again, you would really feel comfortable walking bare foot any where in this resort...it is so clean and beautiful and prestigious. Every guest, every patron is treated with respect from every staff member there - from the bell hop, valet, front desk check in, concierge, restaurant, casino, grounds people, pool staff, cleaning help, golf staff and maintenance if you happen to see them will help you in any way you want. This is beyond 5 star. We have now had the pleasure of staying here 5 times and are happy to say we will be going back in July - we know we will be treated like royalty, our room will be above and beyond cleanliness, and the people here will be just plain kind....what more can I say?

Room Tip: All their rooms are excellent!

From the check-in staff to the waitresses in the lounges, everything was pleasant during our stay here (May 2014). One tip: Always have your ID on you if you intend to buy alcohol, regardless of your age. The room was clean and in good repair. Good food at the restaurants. Some of the drinks at the bar were not "great" - primarily because the bartenders were so busy. Go to the lounges at the top of the hotel for dinner/drinks at sunset - it is beautiful. Spa was wonderful as well. I live in the area, and it was worth the money spent. One more hint: save yourself a walk and use the underground parking (makes it easier to get into the hotel/casino and gets your car out of the elements.

Room Tip: HIgher floor have better views of mountains or Rio Grande valley.
