On a week-long trip to New Mexico in May we wrapped up our trip with a one night stay at the Bottger Mansion. I believe its the closest property to the Old Towne you can stay. You really are one block from the Old Towne.
As we pulled the car up our first impression of the house was not great. It looks fine but the pink color I found a bit unusual and it does seem to be overdue for a paint job. As we walked in the front door we were greeted by both inkeepers Steve and Kathy and both were very helpful.
There is a pleasant lobby and dining area - where you can help yourself to soft drinks and cookies.
The room inself was quite pleasant and to some degree the photos do not do it justing. He had the Huning Room with the queen capopy bed. Very comfy bed and well equiped bathroom. The room was very clean and had tasteful period decor.
The breakfast the next morning was pleasant albeit the portions were a bit small.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Bottger Mansion and would consider staying there again. The old town of ABQ is very pleasant, if not touristy, but be forewarned there is not much to do in this city beyond this and the Sandia Mountain Peak Tram (well worth doing) just outside of town.More
