“A New, Old Boutique Hotel”

While traveling with Amtrak, the Southwest Chief was late getting into Albuquerque, Our car rental was closed, so we went to Tripadvisor to find a convient hotel #4 of 105 in Albuquerque was the Andaluz < 1/4 mile from the station and best yet we were able to get it deeply discounted. The interior of the lobby favors The Peabody in Memphis. The receptionist, doorman and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The Hotel has be reworked it was built in the 1930's by Hilton, and was a downtown staple for years as the Posada. Now it is a great downtown hotel convient to the transportation center as well as the convention center.

Traveling can often be very challenging these days. Delays and weather conditions change our plans and make our arrival stressful. We were happy that you were able to find rest with us and finish out the rest of your trip in a better direction. Thank you for your kind review of our hotel and we are thankful to TripAdvisor that they were able to direct you to us. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

First impressions of this downtown hotel were great - lots of character and a luxury feel.
We had dinner downstairs and the food was wonderful.

It wasn't until we turned the lights off to sleep that the issues begun. It was a windy evening and we could hear it howling through the windows. We also heard lots of sirens and at about 2am, a man barking somewhere down on the street. We were on the 8th floor so it was surprising that it was so noisy.
The bed was a little on the small side and it was soft and I felt I was in someone else's indent. The pillows were also very soft which I don't personally like.

After not a full nights sleep we then discovered our shower was blocked. Someone came and fixed it promptly though and we were offered a small discount upon check out which was a nice gesture.

Shame for such a nicely styled hotel. They also have Molton Brown products in the bathroom which are lovely.

Tip: take your own water - they want to charge $3 a bottle in the room. Also, valet parking is $17.

My husband and I stayed a night at the Andaluz on the way to visit family in northern New Mexico. We're now thinking that next time the family should visit us in Albuquerque. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Check-in by Mariah was gracious, welcoming, and efficient. Our room, a Zen Den, was an inspired retreat, amply sized, carefully decorated, and utterly comfortable. We had tapas and wine in a casbah in the lobby. Both were delicious and well-priced, and the service was just right. The hotel building is old. That being so, I'd expect that there are some quirks to the place as one would expect in an old building, but it seemed to us the the wonders of this place so outdistanced any flaws that it is worth coming to Albuquerque just to stay at the Andaluz.

Room Tip: The Zen Den so is worth it.

Thank you for the kind review of our hotel. We look forward to meeting your family when they come to visit Albuquerque with you. Though our hotel is 75 years old, the owner of the hotel made sure that history meets innovation. We are the only Gold LEED Certified hotel in Albuquerque, and we often update our updates. Believe it or not we have 12 different room types. The Zen Den is definitely a favorite but we have 11 more for you to try and compare. We are very glad to hear you had a good time with us and we look forward to seeing you again.

Correct, good service but the photos oversell it a bit. A closer look and it's not this antique and boutique that it tries to be. Especially for a hotel of this age. The devil is in the detail (or rather in the absence of them). Good looking hall but that's about it. No need to through hundreds of armchairs more or less matching to look welcoming! And the constant castanets soundtracks is errr... cheesy. Long corridors to the bedrooms which look nothing spanish and a bit too asepticized.
For a bit more than 120$, I ended up in Conrad Studio Queen, an OK small room with a doubtful deco (any interior designer on this site looking for a job?). The bathroom was so tiny that you wonder if you have been downgraded or punished??
Good news: it's super clean, calm, excellent bed, they serve good margarita and the restaurant is quite inspired.
You don't have your own car? Too bad for you, there is no shuttle to railway station and airport, it's gonna cost you to move around.
I have no idea what the other options in town are comparatively. Let's say you won't be too disappointed but you won't be thrilled either.
Decent for a one night business trip but not for holidays and not in family.
Guys, "style" and "iconic" is not just something you write on your website. It is a matter of vision, something seriously lacking here.

Four long time friends came to Albuquerque to visit a friend in the hospital. With no plan, we discovered the Andaluz on a phone app. What a lucky find! The historical sense of the hotel and the quality of its service was outstanding. We were very stressed after a long day of travel and our hospital visit, but a cold cocktail in the upstairs outdoor bar set the tone for a very relaxing stay in the hotel. The staff was incredibly cooperative and supportive. Special kudos to Jacqueline and her associate in the registration office who made first time visitors to the City feel like family. Tom A. We stayed here for one evening, June 29, 2014. Folks at the Front Desk/ Check in were wonderful. Jamilia Miller in particular. We had a great room on the 10th floor. Lobby area and second floor mezannine/balcony were well decorated. We had dinner at Mas. It was excellent. Tapas style. Superb service. A great hotel to stay at if you are in Albuquerque. Top marks.

There are very few hotels in downtown Albuquerque and this is one of the better ones. The rooms are relatively large and properly equipped. The staff is very friendly. The restaurant is surprisingly good. The hotel is close to the convention center and the major office buildings. The interior lobby is a delight to sit in and enjoy a quiet drink. There is not much to do in this area of Albuquerque but the hotel works very well for those who are traveling on business. I believe it would also work well for families who are vacationing in NM and need a restful stop in Albuquerque.

Room Tip: try to get a room overlooking the Sandia mountains
