Hotel Albuquerque exceeded our hopes. We lingered in the lobby and breakfast / cafe room (Plazuela) enjoying the lively decor (old New Spain with many colorful touches by recent artists) and the low-key but attentive service. High ceilings kept us cool. Our room was equally welcoming, very quiet, and just large enough. This will be our destination on any future trips to Albuquerque. The "Culture Pass + breakfast" option is a great deal just for the breakfasts, not to mention that the Pass is actually good for a year for many museums and archaeological sites in Santa Fe and other surrounding areas as well as ABQ. Old Town itself is only mildly interesting, though a (free) tour from the local history museum showed us more of interest than we'd discovered by wandering. Still, when in Albuquerque, Old Town is probably the most vibrant place to be -- the greater city is no better nor worse than any other sprawling metropolis set in beautiful but harsh, mountainous semi-desert. Hotel has spa and good facilities for small conferences, which we didn't use but saw others enjoy. Free Wi-Fi worked smoothly. The fanciest restaurant at the hotel, with few customers in off season, wasn't as pleasant as the adjacent Plazuela, though the staff worked hard to make the 'fine dining' experience a pleasure.

The staff are wonderful, friendly and efficient. The hotel is beautiful. The beds are so comfortable it's like sleeping on a cloud. The grounds are tranquil and serene. It was my first time in New Mexico and it was a wonderful experience. Old Town just out the north door and a beautiful walking experience.

Front desk reservations staff knew all details of our conference booking and proactively guided through all details of reservation. All staff at the hotel were friendly and knowledgeable. Room was very spacious and clean with a great view of early morning hot air balloon flights. Efficient and friendly staff in Cafe Plazuela were happy to accommodate special dietary needs and great value. Decor in all areas of hotel was tasteful and comfortable.

Great hotel. Quiet, GREAT beds. On the pricier side, but probably worth it for a good night's sleep. Could use a mini fridge, though.

If your focus is Old Town in Albuquerque, this is the hotel in which to stay. It is a very easy two block walk to Old Town, but you will need a car or other mode of transportation to reach Downtown or the University area. We are walkers, but we chose to drive the 2 1/2 miles to downtown. I cannot say enough about the lobby and other public rooms in the hotel -- they are large and tastefully decorated in a southwest theme and they are both welcoming and comfortable. The real joy however are the outside spaces, both the garden area and the outdoor pool -- both are just beautiful. There is also a very charming chapel just off the garden area. We were there for 2 nights and we saw 2 weddings - one in the garden and one in the chapel. Our bed was very comfortable, but the furnishings in the room are almost " southwest basic". Our room could have used some TLC and upgrading, but it was certainly satisfactory. It is a very short walk to two excellent restaurants, Seasons and the St. Clair Winery and Bistro. We highly recommend both. The Hotel Albuquerque is a great place to stay near the Old Town area -- lots of free parking onsite.

Our recent stay at the Hotel Albuquerque was lovely! Wonderful beds, beautiful lobby and grounds, very helpful staff (from the desk help to the maids), AND only 2 blocks from Old Town!!! For a very reasonable rate we had one of our most memorable stays in Albuquerque. The only problem was that the on-site dining/entertainment facilities, Q Nightclub and Cafe Plazuela, were so popular that there was a long line to get in - they must be good!
