“Dissappointed - Far cry from previous experience”
Reviewed 27 July 2005

My family of five stayed here on Jul 16, 2005. Although the staff was very friendly and courteous, it didn't make up for the fact the room needed a bit more attention to detail by the cleaners. The bathroom could've been cleaner-grime in the corners. A few small bugs to deal with didn’t make the stay any better. King bed has hard. No bedding for the hide-a-bed, so that meant a trip to the office. The pool/jacuzzi closed at a ridiculous hour. There's not enough parking for the travelers. I ended up parking on the completely opposite side of the complex and walking. This is the fourth Marriott Inn I have stayed at and was a major disappointment. I’ve stayed at Arlington, VA, Las Cruces, NM, (Springfield Inn) and San Antonio Market Square. They were great! Albuquerque definitely needs help getting their act together.

The Residence Inn was probably a very nice hotel about 10 years ago. It is still okay but not up to the standards of other suite hotels I've stayed in recently.

The general impression I got was of a lack of maintenance and attention to detail. For example the refrigerator and HVAC systems in my room were extremely noisy and the cabinets were scratched up. During my stay a painting crew was working on the outside of the units but I never did figure out if they were painting tan buildings white, or white buildings tan. They did manage to block off a bunch of parking spaces at a hotel where parking was a little tight anyway.

The hotel location is right off I-40. The highway is adjacent to the back of the property and you can definitely hear traffic if the noisy HVAC system isn't drowning out the sound.

Breakfast - a good feature of Residence Inns - was fairly decent. A "manager's social hour" is advertised. In most hotels that means some munchies and a beer or two. This hotel is on the wagon - probably due to the local liquor laws - and the food was pretty poor. One night the offering was some supermarket deli pasta salad and microwaved frozen chicken nuggets.

There are nicer hotels in Albuquerque in the same price range.

Hi, we stayed here in June 2003 and for the most part it was nice nice rooms we had the two story pent house type room, but the grounds of the hotle could use some tender loving care, we saw the same trash in the same place for the whole day we were there, and while playing out on the tennis court /basketball court notice trash along fences there that you could tell had been there for awhile, seems like they spend alot of time (staff) socializing and not working that was what we noticed the maintence people and others just kind of hanging out by the pool area and lobby.

we were at this marriott property from May 3- 10th 2003. At the front desk they were very proper, friendly. We had rented the two floor penthouse suite in the left side of the hotel. When we arrived there, it appeared to be clean and in order. THe first problem we encountered was that our pass card for the room would never work. We told them at the front desk and for 3 days we had to get it re-keyed. Finally on the 3rd day, we said something is wrong with the keying system. They came up and took the system off the door and replaced it. Then i was taking a shower, the shower head fell off. they had to send maintenance to replace it. We had to constantly call them for fresh towels, change our sheets, etc. It was a constant struggle to get them to keep the room up.
