“Pleasant stay”
Reviewed 30 July 2014 via mobile

From the outside, this place looked pretty old (definitely needs some improvement to the building). But the room was nice and very clean. They have the best bed (tempurpedic), and wide selection of TV channels. The room also had a microwave and a refrigerator which was very convenient. The hotel offers a nice selection of free breakfast items. The swimming pool was also big and clean. Both the reception staff I talked to were very courteous and very knowledgeable about the area. I will definitely be stayin again at this hotel when I am back in Albuquerque.

The beds are the main reason to stay at this hotel, you are guaranteed a comfortable night. Our a.c. unit worked perfectly and the room was clean. The internet is free and fast, the TV has more channels than any other hotel I have stayed in. As for breakfast, We will find out if we can drag ourselves out of this amazing bed

We have stayed here twice. This time we stayed on our route 66 trip. The rooms are clean and the mattresses are so comfy. Best sleep that we had out of the 15 hotels we stayed in. Convenient to bars and restaurants and the shuttle is a great amenity. We took it to old town which is fun. They have a great hot breakfast and the staff is friendly. Felt good about the car because they have a locked gate that you park in. The park across the street has some shady characters so we were glad about the gate. Recommended!

Location is great for restaurants, nightlife, movie theater all within walking distance. Nice Italian joint right across the street. Two bed room is rather tight but the beds were comfortable and it was handy having the refrigerator/microwave. The A/C had to be cranked at max power to keep room cool. Glad I checked reviews prior and requested a room overlooking downtown. Room facing west would have surely been insufferable. Room was clean, staff was decent and cookies were good. The outside is very shabby and in desperate need of an update, expect to be underwhelmed on sight. Parking garage under hotel also very small. If you have a large vehicle or problems navigating small spaces avoid it. Had problems with key not opening gate to parking lot. If you are staying with someone who doesn't sweat the small stuff, you will be fine.

Room Tip: request a room on a higher floor facing downtown

TERRIBLE! DISGUSTING! I have never been compelled to give 0 stars, ever, however, this is the most horrific place I have ever set foot in. We got tired on our road trip and decided last minute to stay in Albuquerque. I called 30 hotels and only The Hotel Blue had availability, I now understand why. As we approached there was a huge, gated parking lot, a bunch of 20 something year olds were half naked (guys in boxers, girls in bras or bra-style tops, wandering the parking lot smoking and yelling (it was 12:30am when we arrived). The Hotel can't really control who stays there but I didn't feel like our belongings were safe in the car, that's for sure. On our walk from the parking lot to the front desk we came across 10 cock roaches!!!! But still, we were tired and the reviews seemed decent so we kept going. We paid for our room and got into the elevator. The elevator started bouncing before we touched any buttons, it was scary! We got up to our 4th floor room and the elevator doors opened to the most disgusting carpet I have ever seen! We walked to our room along a concrete ledge that was cracked and seemed very unstable. We opened our room door and the floor was covered in crumbs, seeds, and FLEAS!!!! We were in a non-smoking, non-pet friendly room. We set our bags down on the plastic fold out table (no way they were going to touch the floor) and went to use the bathroom. There was blood on the floor and DRIED PEE SPRINKLES ALL OVER THE TOILET SEAT!!!!!!! As we gathered our belongings to go to the front desk and inform them of the filth in our room I noticed a sticky, spilt beverage of some sort down the whole table. The mini fridge had drinks in it left from another guest and the door handle on the inside of the room was covered in sticky fingerprints and dried food. I swear they went in, made the bed and walked out. The beds are tempurpedic (maybe knock-offs judging by the low quality of everything else) and the TV was flat screen but I would take no TV and a cardboard box on the floor before ever sleeping at this Hotel. We finally got down to the front desk after only being in the room about 5 minutes, told the man there about everything that was wrong with our room and requested to be reimbursed. He said that he isn't capable of reimbursing us and that we would have to call the manager the following morning. He said the manager would be in at 9am. We called at 9:30 am and were told that the manager wouldn't be in until the following day. We still haven't gotten a hold of the manager or received our refund. We're giving them until tomorrow (today is a Sunday) and then we'll have to dispute the charge with our bank. This was by far the worst Hotel experience I have ever had and we travel A LOT! We have stayed at all sorts of hotels from Ritz Carlton, and to Motel 6 and super 8, we aren't picky or stuck up, we just wanted a half decent place to get a few hours sleep, this is not the place!!!!

The staff wasnt over the top curteous, or even appoligetic after giving us keys (and walking in on) to another couples room. The grounds were substandardly cleaned. The bathroom had hair in the tub and on the toilet. The bed was comfortable. The stay was average at best. Stayed at the Hyatt the next evening for $10 more dollars.

Room Tip: Ask for pool view, keeps the traffic noise from rt 66 to a minimum.

Traveling w two little dogs, we chose this hotel. Room was a little tight but nicely appointed w all amenities including a "fireplace". Granite touches and triple sheeted tempurpedic beds were nice. W dogs and only elevators to 5th floor, walking them would have been a problem but for pee pads. Within walking distance to Cecelia's Cafe - a huge plus and close to Old Town and downtown was right there.
