This was our first trip to the redwoods and first stay at a KOA. We (DH, ds6, ds4 and I) stayed in a one room cabin. The cabin was clean, cozy, and tucked back in the trees. It had just enough room for our luggage, the beds, and a small table for making sandwiches. We loved the porch swing, picnic table and fire pit. We roasted marshmallows nightly and DH and I sat on the porch after the kids had gone to bed.

The little store was nice with some souvenirs, and little things you may have forgotten. The service here was fantastic! They knew all the great places to go and could give you directions to them. They always had a smile and went out of their way to help.

The pancake breakfast was awesome! All you can eat pancakes and children under 5 ate for free! The laundry and bathroom areas were clean and the water was always warm. There are only 3 showers in the ladies room, which can make for a long wait at night, depending on the people in there.

All in all, when we visit the redwoods this will be our go to spot! Much less expensive then other cabins and gives you the real camping in the redwoods feel.

Very nice, family-oriented campground with cabins, tents, and pull-throughs. We had a nice electric/water site that looked out on a redwood grove. The bathrooms are very clean and have plenty of hot water for showers. It is just north of Crescent City, on Highway 101, making it convenient to Stout Grove, Trees of Mystery, and other northern redwood parks. We will definitely stay here, again.

We have stayed at this campground several times and have always loved it. It is beautiful, right in the redwoods. It is very family-friendly and has a playground for kids. It is a short drive to the beach, into town, to the bay or hiking trails in the redwoods.

We have stayed a couple times in this KOA as cabin campers. The folks are very friendly and helpful. It is great to have a 24 hour laundry room! We like to site see all day and not hurry back to do laundry before it closes. This was an easy campground to use because of location and facilities. Make sure you go to the pancake breakfast if they have it on a day you are there. It costs but not too much. The only complaint I have is getting some bad advise as far as the National Park visitor centers. They sent us to the one in town as opposed to the one nearby, because it was bigger and told us it had the orientation movie, In reality it was the opposite. I should have done my own research on park visitation. Will recommend this KOA.

This is probably one of the best campgrounds I have ever pitched a tent on. I can honestly say that this rivals some of the better camping grounds in Australia, a country of campers.

We paid about $36 per night for a tent site, a little steep for some, perhaps, but well worth it in my opinion (attracts a more genteel crowd of campers, it seems).

The campground is set in a beautiful and quiet area, and tent sites were spacious and located in amongst tall redwoods. The facilities, including the toilets, shower stalls, laundry room, and game room were immaculately clean. Staff were very friendly, and were always most willing to answer our questions. They gave us some great recommendations on how to make the most of our 2 days in the Redwood Forest, providing us with a list of scenic drives and short hikes.

Although we did not partake in ice cream night or the pancake breakfast, I could see that they were both very popular activities.

The people running this place should really be commended because the amount of love - yes, LOVE - they put into running this campground shows.

This is my first time staying at a KOA. It was a good experience. We stayed in their one and only lodge that had a bathroom, kitchenette, tv/dvd, microwave, fridge and private yard to BBQ in and roast marshmallows. The lodge was clean, the water pressure in the shower was AWESOME, better than any hotel I've stayed in, the hot water seems to never run out (there was 6 of us in the lodge). The only drawback was that the RV and trailers that stayed there were parked too close together and close to the lodge. We saw a small herd of elk in the back part of (outside of) KOA and my first time seeing a banana slug. I wished at first that they had a pool, but glad they didn't because it was cold when we went in June. Staff was friendly and nice.

This is a great KOA Campground located in the Redwoods just off the Redwoods Highway. The grounds were beautifully maintained, free WiFi and cable TV. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was an outdoor pool and camp store. My only complaint with this campground is the same as at most other campgrounds; not enough washers and dryers. This is a large campground with only four washers and four dryers. People were standing in line waiting to do their wash, and I was one of them. My biggest pet peeve concerns the people who put their wash in and then fail to return to take it out, which is just plain inconsiderate.

Other than the laundry room situation, I would highly recommend the Redwoods KOA. It’s a beautiful campground on a beautiful highway.
