“Great location- Standard Hampton Inn”
Reviewed 19 April 2011

Unfortunately, they were still renovating the fitness center and pool when I arrived, which I believe has since been completed. The staff was friendly, but not overly so. The views were magnificent, and the hotel was quiet. Yes the rooms are pricier than a standard Hampton Inn, but not every Hampton Inn is literally located right on the Pacific Ocean. I would definitely stay here again. The only annoying thing was there was a faint horn heard every few minutes from the lighthouse...

I stay regularly at this hampton inn and suites on buisness and i love it here. the staff is out going and friendly. They always go the extra mile if i need anything. Taxis, dinner, directions. they go above and beyond. Its odd that there is usually only one staff member on property after 5pm. Considering its a large hotel with lots of guests.. leaving one person on staff tending to the phone and the store and well everything.. sometimes its a bit of a wait to get what you need. Other than that i wouldn't stay anywhere else in crescent city.

Room Tip: ask for the cheapest room possible with a view

No real reason to stay in Crescent City, just 'conveniently halfway' on the 101 from Astoria to San Francisco ... the view from the room on the lighthouse was pretty and listening to the waves soothing, but the room was, although roomy, dirty and furnished with bed and chairs, both which had had its best years a long time ago.
Included breakfast was a joke, besides the service being the rudest.
Was happy to hit the road again the next morning .....

This is a standard Hampton Inn, but we loved our oceanfront room with a balcony and great view.

We had a very pleasant stay at this Hampton Inn. What was originally going to be a one night stay turned into three nights. This is a great base for exploring the Redwoods as well as a relaxing spot right on the water. Our spacious mini-suite included a balcony with a great view of the crashing waves, the nearby lighthouse and the rugged Northern California coastline. The daily breakfast was well stocked with warm and cold items. We hope to return to this location in the future.

I was traveling with my mother for a short vacation. The weather was bad so we were not able to drive as far as originally planned. My husband and I travel on business alot and Hampton (and other Hilton chains) are our favorite particularly for the very comfortable bedding. I chose the Hampton in Crescent City because it was a Hampton and for the location.

The facility looked like it had not been updated from quite a few years ago. The Duvet was too small for the signature Hampton Duvet cover. The linens were threadbare, 2 light bulbs in the room were out, furniture was well-worn. Light switches were dirty and the "under window" heater/air was full of dirt.

And for a rainy/super cold, dark night in November, the fireplace in the lobby was not on.
The price was comparable to other Hampton's I have stayed in.

The direct on view of the lighthouse and ocean at our doorstep let us forget these "indiscretions" especially since we only stayed one night.

Breakfast the next morning was good. And the staff was quite good, helpful and ready to please. So that's a good thing.

I'm responding to Hampton's "after stay" survey to definitely update this facility - the location would make it worth the cost to them I think.

Would I recommend this - yes, if you're looking for a great location.

This hotel is a crime. It has an unbelievable location right on the dunes overlooking the surf, but is cheap, tacky, dirty and coming apart. AND MY BED WAS CRAWLING WITH BED BUGS. I see somebody else had a similar experience, and it was clear that the desk clerks were familiar with the problem.
