The very loud Crescent City foghorn is definitely audible at this address - all night, all day, all the time apparently... and for some perverse reason, in the almost empty motel, I was given the room at the faaaar end of the property from the office - closest to the foghorn. On other hand, a pretty nice breakfast - waffle machine, fresh pastries, bagels, fruit, juice, coffee...

Room Tip: Rooms closer to office have less forhorn.

I have never been so shocked at hotel that charges 85$ a night. Maybe 30-40$ tops. Exterior doors dont lock, mold on ceiling, holes in batbroom door, bluish wallpaper that is stained brown, paper thin walls, what appears to be semen stains on floor, took room four hours to warm up, non-working wi-fi, ciggarete burn holes in bedding, was afraid to pull back covers on bed, coffee in lobby was awful plus no creamer, front desk staff unable to comprehend english.
Even though there was only five cars in the parking lot I was told there was no single rooms available, got charged for a double.
Overall this is an awful place, just keep going.

Was reluctant going here after reading all the negative reviews but do not understand whats wrong with this place - maybe they are from the competition. Check in very smooth and professional. The room was huge, bigger than any other Econo Lodge we have stayed in. Was very clean, the bed was a bit too soft but ok. Slept well with no noise. Place was full due to the bargain price $35. Breakfast was the usual toast, muffins, coffee, etc. in the lobby, and I have seen smaller lobbys in other similar motels. Overall, a nice stay, if you are just passing through, as there is nothing much to do in this town

There aren't a lot of choices in Crescent City. The one main hotel in town with an indoor pool, continental breakfast, and modern rooms will run you 4x as much money as this place costs. Check in/out went smoothly. The front office folks live at the motel. We were handled by the father and he was always professional with us. The room is nothing to write home about, for sure. It wasn't dirty, but it is clear attention is not paid to detail (high dust, corners need vacuuming, for example). My only dismay was the odor of curry or something similar in the room. After 10 minutes in the room, you grow accustomed, but it was shockingly strong (and I like curry!) upon entering the room. I do not know where the smell was coming from, as there is no kitchen in these units. Perhaps it is the ventilation system running throughout these adjoining rooms. If it is the resident employees, I would encourage they utilize/install fan systems. The continental breakfast consisted of pastries, a waffle machine, fruit, and cereal. The eating area is in the small check-in foyer so there are only 2 tables. You'll need to stagger with other patrons or take it back to your room. We personally did not use wi-fi, but I saw a fellow patron on his laptop utilizing it and so I would assume it works.
Not an "enjoyable" place, but acceptable given the low price for both a room and free breakfast.

My husband and I stayed here and only lasted 1 night out of an anticipated 5 nights. My husband is in the military and they "had" to copy his military ID- which is odd, because no other hotel has ever had to do that, plus it had his personal information on it which made us feel uneasy. The staff weren't friendly at all. Anyway we could overlook that however the room was horrible. Unclean bathroom- hairs on the bathtub/toilet. However- the most annoying part of the entire stay was the loud constant noise by the water pipes in the walls. Nothing could be done about it and it kept my husband up until 5am until he got fed up and left to go sleep in the car. The staff denied any noise problems even when we brought it up. "Continental" breakfast was equally regrettable.

Spend more $ and save yourself the hassle.

Desperate for a room under 80 bucks a nite, we stayed here with two teens (two rooms) for $75 per room per nite. The good parts: the front desk staff was pleasant, there were clean sheets and towels and the TVs worked. Bad parts: Mold in both bathroom ceilings, toilet backed up twice (but oh, there was already a plunger in the bathroom for guest to use when necessary - called front desk about toilet and the manager came, 3 hrs later, with another plunger; I guess in case the one already in the room didn't work?!?); loud neighbors with loud TV all nite; stale pastries in continental breakfast. Whew, what an experience! My advice would be to spring for a more expensive room and totally bypass the econolodge in cresent city ca.

It was a mistake to make reservations at this motel. When making reservations the man was very rude and difficult to understand. A mistake was made with our reservations and the room had ants. When leaving in the morning the Manager didn't seem to care.
